Krispy Kreme prayer walk
Over Spring Break 40+ people will join us for our Dallas Expedition. Each will learn how to reach people far from God through prayer walking and then telling their story and God’s story. We want to do what we can, then trust God to do what only He can--bring people to salvation. We'll then follow-up and disciple those who want to follow Jesus.
This weekend two groups from our church will go out to till the spiritual soil ahead of the Expedition. We will prayer walk some areas to pray onsite with insight. In another area we will give out Krispy Kreme doughnuts as we meet people and offer to pray for them. We'll then send teams back during the Dallas Expedition to talk more to those who show spiritual interest.
Will you pray for us? Pray especially for divine appointments with prepared people. Click here for a list of verses to pray for the people we will meet.
We are trusting God to introduce us to people He has prepared to receive the hope found only in Jesus. Similar to Limbji, who we met in India (see story below).
Blessings.
Mike Jorgensen

Jesus is Life
There was a hush in the room as Grandpa Limbji stood in the open doorway to the street of the small Indian village we visited several weeks ago. Grandkids Dhananjay and Dhanshri had put their faith in Jesus the day before. When we returned the second day to follow-up with them, their dad Bhagwan and mom Rajshri also decided to follow Jesus. We were in the middle of teaching them how to share their faith using anEvangecard when Limbji walked in. I'm sure "what will he think?" was on everyone's minds.
Since it was the second day, our national partners were doing the ministry they had seen us model the day before. So our translator Shobha lovingly shared the good news of Jesus with Limbji. But in the end he said he wanted to continue to follow his family’s Hindu gods.
Then came an emphatic nudge from Anne, one of my teammates, who whispered “you talk to him, Mike, he needs to hear from a man.”
“Nah, I’m sure the translator did a great job explaining things in their language.”
“No, you NEED to talk to him,” responded Anne. “OK, OK, OK,” I thought.
So I started back through the gospel presentation again, this time adding more stories from the Creation to Christ stories we were using. Adding things like how Satan had rebelled and then been expelled from heaven with one third of the angels, who now are the evil spirits tormenting the earth. How Jesus fed the 5,000 to demonstrate His power to meet all our needs. How He cast Legion out of the demoniac and into the pigs, which demonstrated His power over the spirit world.
Much to my surprise, Limbji then said that he wanted to receive Jesus as his Savior. As Pastor Sanjay prayed with him, I wondered, “Is he doing this to be nice to the Westerner . . . is he just adding Jesus to the multitude of Hindu gods he worships and fears . . . or is this for real?”
As his family and our team rejoiced, one of the local believers taught Limbji how to share the gospel. Then someone handed him a New Testament we had brought for the family.
As they opened it to John 1, again my skepticism kicked in. “Can he read that? Was he even taught to read in this rural village? Can he see well enough to read that small print?”
My questions were answered as he started to read John 1 out loud in his native dialect.
“In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was with God in the beginning. Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made. In him was life, and that life was the light of all mankind. The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.”
Then pesky Anne asked one more question of Limbji. “Now when your neighbors ask you about Jesus and your family gods, what are you going to tell them?”
My skepticism melted as he joyfully and emphatically answered her--”Jesus is Life.” Our holy God had sought him out, and now was changing his life through His Spirit illuminating His word in Limbji's heart and mind.
God blessed our time in India exceedingly abundantly, for there were many stories like Limbji’s. We were able to see firsthand the church planting movement God birthed there. We were able to do a mini e3 Expedition in which we employed the T4T strategies we have been deploying to our staff the past few years. God blessed us with much spiritual fruit:
- 591 gospel presentations
- 449 professions of faith
- 27 I Am Second groups
- 14 second I Am Second group meetings (second visit follow-ups)
- 300 new believers trained how to share the gospel
- Coaching and planning sessions with e3 staff from the Middle East, Latin America, Africa and Asia, as well as our continent directors and CEO.
Thanks again for all your prayers for our India trip. Please continue to pray as we use this strategy here in Dallas.
P.S. to Anne--THANKS for being so spiritually pesky! |

Krispy Kremes & Worship Warriors
The Krispy Kreme outreach was amazing. But before I tell you more about that . . . would YOU be a worship warrior with us?
Early Saturday morning I groggily headed out our front door on my daily walk. The words hit me even before I made it to the front sidewalk--”Joshua at Jericho.” Three simple words. But I instantly knew what they meant. God was answering my prayers for direction for the Dallas Expedition.
As Joshua looked toward Jericho, the first battle Israel would have in the Promised Land, he met a Man holding a raised sword, which I believe was Jesus. Why? First, he said he was the commander of the army of the Lord. In response Joshua immediately fell down and worshipped him, but the Man did not make him get up, as the angel told John in Rev 19. Second, he told Joshua to take off his sandals for he was standing on holy ground, a directive that Joshua immediately obeyed. Third, it then says that the Lord gave Joshua the unique battle plan for taking Jericho.
Worship and obey. In the midst of worship and obedience, Joshua received his marching orders. Which were to do what is probably the first recorded prayer walk in history! Circling the city for 6 days in silence, except for the blowing of the ram horns, a reminder of the presence of God represented by the Ark of the Covenant. Then circling it another 7 times on the 7th day, leading to complete, utter victory.
In the midst of that victory a family was saved--Rahab’s family--protected by the sign of a scarlet cord in her window.
We already had planned a prayer walk for Saturday. As our team met, we discussed the story. How God showed his absolute power. How Jesus said he had already given Joshua victory over the city. But that Joshua and the Israelite army had to go in and “collect” the victory. How the main focus of the army circling the city was Jehovah, for the Ark of the Covenant was in their midst, heralded by the ram horns.
So that’s what we did. We went into the apartment complexes. We worshipped as we went. We focused on God and His glory and sovereignty and power.
Now YOUR help is needed to circle these areas in prayer for the next 6 days!
Would you serve as a worship warrior for the next few days before the Expedition begins? Here’s what that means.
Download this map of many of the areas in which our teams will work during the Dallas Expedition. Worship God as you pray over at least one area every day. Worship God as you ask Him to work in that area. Worship Jesus as Commander of the Army of the Lord as you ask Him to win all the spiritual battles that need to be faught to liberate that part of our city.
You might even get on Google Earth and do a virtual prayer walk in that area. If you’re in Dallas, you could even go there yourself.
Here are scripture verses to pray for those areas on behalf of the people there.
We need you to join the spiritual air force that goes ahead of the Expedition ground troops.
Now, about those Krispy Kremes.
The Krispy Kreme idea comes from Fred & Melissa Campbell in Austin, who use breakfast tacos in their outreaches. So we adapted it for Dallas to use Krispy Kremes to demonstrate God's love and grace.
Thanks for continuing to pray for this mission to Dallas.
Blessings.
