Invitation to Seek God in Prayer and Fasting Monday, January 12, 2015, to Friday, February 20, 2015  Hear my cry, O God,   listen to my prayer; from the end of the earth, I call to you   when my heart is faint. Lead me to the rock   that is higher than I… -Psalm 61:1, 2, ESV  God alone controls the universe, and He alone has the power to listen to your whispered words and bring great change to your life, your family, your circumstances and your nation. The Christian recognizes that "Unless the LORD builds the house, those who build it labor in vain" (Psalm 127:1, ESV). He is our hope and the one we turn to for grace and mercy, because He loves us and has given us every spiritual blessing in Christ. Monday, January 12, 2015, begins another 40 Day fast, sponsored by Christian Union as an opportunity to help participants draw near to God and to experience the presence of God all the more fully. We are broken, needy people, and God is the source of everything we need in this life. I myself am freshly reminded how much I need His continual forgiveness for hurts I have caused others, and for His strength to be a changed man, usable by Him for His purposes. I need His anointing to be a man of faith in my relationships, city, and nation. Please join us for this fast as we seek God for blessing and change personally and for our nation. You can join us for the full 40 days of fasting, or perhaps you want to make a different commitment, such as fasting two days a week during the 40 days, or perhaps for the first five days and the last five days. It is widely known that the New Testament church fasted every Wednesday and Friday to help them deepen their walks with the Lord. It's an essential, helpful part of the Christian life.
