Mobilized to Multiply! In March of 2020 I met Shawn, an Outreach Pastor in Ft. Lauderdale. At that time, he and Roberto were hearing from the Lord to change their mission’s paradigm. From their robust mega-church with multi-site campuses – they began to hear a call to disciple-making and conversational evangelism. Their church's previously adopted growth model had seen some fruit, but the Lord convinced Shawn to set new direction. After meeting we became fast friends. Our team has gladly invested in his life and ministry – traveling four times to Ft. Lauderdale and having coaching circle meetings online. One lay leader trained said, “This training is for those who wish to reach their full potential as a Jesus follower, who has the courage to change their life, who look to build a healthy and trustworthy process for making disciples in a contemporary society. It challenges our status quo.” Since 2020 Shawn and his team have trained about 450 people in our Sent 6:7 disciple-making and evangelism process. Those trained have lived a vibrant missional lifestyle of praying for their lost friends, showing care to them, and sharing the gospel with them (a Prayer-Care-Share lifestyle). Now, they are seeing disciples of Jesus multiply! Here are some highlights of their ministry: They started using their time differently, being very intentional to serve their community and share their faith. 75 of their church’s community groups now have a Life Mission Coordinator. 750 people are going through Step 1 of our Sent 6:7 process called Becoming a CoJourner and are beginning to make disciples leading to a new church plant effort. A mobilization team of six has formed. Those six leaders have about 10 leadership groups with 10-12 members each going through the Step 4 of our training process – learning to plant new faith communities and churches in target areas. About 150 are learning to advance the gospel in practical, personal and very fruitful ways! Dave with Shawn GOD IS AT WORK! Recently, we’ve begun training a new group of missional leaders and pastors. After a two-hour training in conversational evangelism and learning about the Prayer-Care-Share lifestyle, here’s their report regarding how they are applying it intentionally. Daniel (Phoenix) went to see his chiropractor. He desires to get to know his doctor better and eventually share the gospel with him. Daniel said, “I’ve known you for ten years and we’ve never sat down together. Would you want to get together soon and talk about life?” His chiropractor immediately said, “I’d love to!” Dave (Miami, OH) began witnessing to Rafael who is painting his house. On his way to Dave’s house, Rafael prayed, “Lord, you’ve got to show up in my life!” Rafael later told Dave that he wants to understand God better. Now they are making plans to study John’s Gospel. Erin (Denver, CO) is helping Sky - a woman she works with in a public school. Sky’s mom is dying of cancer. They have bonded over the sorrow that Sky is experiencing. Erin recently held Sky in her arms as Sky wept. Erin is intentionally loving her and hoping to lead her to Christ. Paul, a church planter, had casually made an acquaintance with Michael over the last two years. He initiated with Michael this past month and learned more of Michael's story. That led to a Bible study from the gospels centering on hope. Michael’s wife Betty and grandson, Messiah, started coming to the study, and all three of them put their faith in Christ.  Their daughter, Mel (Messiah’s mom) overheard them talking recently and revealed that her “life was heavy.” That night she came to know Christ. All four of them became Christians this month with Paul! Cindy (Miami, OH) and her mom shared the Gospel with a Vietnamese man who owns the nail salon they frequent. Ben (Jacksonville, FL) set up a Neighborhood Block Party, co-hosting it with a Buddhist neighbor from Cambodia that Ben is witnessing to! Andrew, a pastor in southern Michigan, is setting up a Becoming a CoJourner training for his church.  Please Pray: Motus Dei Church Planting Conference in Bangkok, Thailand is this month! Please pray for us as we travel, facilitate and speak. On April 29, May 1 & 2, I will be speaking to delegations from S. Korea and W. Africa. We are hosting training and collaboration sessions with others from North America, too. Pray for us!  We need it!  My new book (A Necessary Resolve) is in its final editing phase.
