Hello, partners and friends. Due to the tragedy which occurred yesterday on the University of Texas Campus in Austin, we felt compelled to reach out to our partners today to unite with us in prayer. Freshman Harrison Brown was killed and 2 other students seriously injured in the middle of the day in a very busy plaza on campus, during this last week of classes. All three were stabbed by a fellow student wielding a hunting knife. As a parent, I cannot comprehend the grief the Brown family is experiencing over the senseless loss of their son. This is a significant time, where we as brothers and sisters in Christ can come together and pray for this family to be surrounded with love, support, encouragement, and supernatural strength as they face the difficult road ahead of them. Kevin Ling, Campus Renewal’s UT Campus Director, has been on-site coordinating efforts with other ministries to be available for the student community all throughout the day. This evening, students from the National Office of Campus Renewal will lead a dedicated time of prayer from 6:30 – 9:00 pm in the Campus House of Prayer. They will intercede on behalf of their campus, Harrison’s family and friends, as well as the other victims and their loved ones and the other students who experienced such horrific trauma yesterday. Let’s unite in prayer for God’s presence to saturate the campus, for fear to subside, and for healing to take place, as students return to classes to wrap up this semester and prepare for finals next week. OTHER UPCOMING PRAYER EVENTS:
The University of Texas at Dallas – Richardson is hosting 24 hours of Prayer May 1-2, 2017.
The University of Tennessee, Knoxville, will be hosting The Prayer Tent, May 2-4, 2017. Each day of finals from 10:00 am until 2:00 pm UT/area ministries, local churches and individuals will partner with the Campus House of Prayer to pray for students during one of the most stressful weeks of the semester. A tent is set up on UTK’s Pedestrian Walkway near the Humanities Building, where students invited to fill out prayer request cards. The cards are then presented to the prayer team, or, the student is prayed for on-site.
OTHER PRAYER OPPORTUNITIES: National Day of Prayer Board Meeting (NDOP): Over the next couple of days, I will be joining the NDOP Board in Washington D.C. to not only prepare for the National Day of Prayer, but also to discuss some potential changes for the future of NDOP. Please pray for God to grant each of us wisdom and insight into the areas of discussion which will take place. We do not want to move ahead into the next season without His presence guiding and leading us each step of the way. National Day of Prayer, May 4, 2017: Make plans to gather with your church, family or friends to pray for our nation. This is a great time to connect with others in prayer to ask God to pour out His mercy on us and for His unmerited favor to reign over our nation. Let’s take this opportunity to humble ourselves before our Great God in order to see His Presence sweep through our land. SUMMER INTERN IN NEED OF HOUSING: One of our long-time financial partners has reached out to our National Office in the hope of finding suitable housing for his soon to be son-in-law. The young man will be in the Austin area as an intern from June – August, 2017, and is looking for a place to live, on a limited budget. If you know of any good, affordable housing, please contact my assistant, Lisa Smith, at either (512) 331-5991 or lisa.smith@campusrenewal.org and let her know. Thank you for taking time out of your busy schedule today to unite with us in prayer. Your partnership with the ministry of Campus Renewal speaks volumes of support and encouragement to us. Whatever situations you may be facing personally today, we ask for God to meet you at your point of need and that He will make His presence known in the midst thereof.
Matthew 18:20 (AMP) – “For where two or three are gathered in My name [meeting together as My followers], I am there among them.”
In His Perfect Love, Jeremy Story President, Campus Renewal

Thank you for this, Phil. I remember the days that the greatest worry while studying at college was failing the exams. Safety at school and college are now such a big concern. May God protect our children.
