Annual Prayer Events

I am developing my prayer ministry plan for 2011.  I would like to highlight various national/international prayer events over the coming year.  (National day of prayer, prayer for the persecuted church, Meet you at the Pole, for example.)  Does anyone know of a good source that outlines some of these events?  I'm able to find some of them by googling things I've heard about, but I thought that there's probably a calendar out there that someone else has already compiled.

Thanks!

  • Check the calendar on the Mission America Coalition's Evangelism Connection ...

Dave Butts, Chairman f the National prayer Committee, has this same vision.

No single site has cataloged all this info to my knowledge - The event calendar on this site is growing and has many national/interdenominational events.

    Other sites, anyone?

  • Hi Heather
We are having a month of prayer from the 4th February until the 13th March. The month will open with a retreat, for three days on the 4th/5th and 6th February, and for the next four weeks all the home cells will be doing a church wide study on prayer. The month culminates with a focused week of prayer "Our God for our City, Our city for our God" from the 6th - 13th March which will include services with a prayer focus, a 24hr prayer chain, special prayer staions erected in our sanctuary for the week, prayer buses which will go out on the 12th March to the north and south of Johannesburg, Prayer walks as well as other prayer initiatives. We are also hoping that other churches in the area will consider doing this at their own churches.

Thank you so much - Jenny Basson, Prayer coordinator, Rosebank Union, Johannesburg.
