Dear Friends of EHC, It is with a heavy heart that I write to inform you of a loss in the EHC family and to request your urgent prayers. As you may be aware, the Central African Republic is in great turmoil today. Violence has swept the country for months amidst political upheaval and fighting between Muslim and Christian militias. The people of the Central African Republic—including our EHC teams—are caught in the crossfire of this extreme unrest. Just yesterday, we received word that one of our pioneer missionaries had been killed. We are deeply grieved at this loss of a dedicated coworker and a dear brother in Christ. The EHC National Director and his wife have been forced to leave their home, but they are now in a safe location. Edoh Fiozandji, the EHC Regional Director for this part of Africa, wrote to us today, “Over a month ago, I encouraged this Director to flee his nation because of the situation there. But he would not leave. He is so committed to EHC, and to reaching his people.” We must pray! Please pray for peace in the Central African Republic. Pray for comfort for the family of the pioneer missionary who was killed. Pray against any further loss of life. Pray for continued safety for the National Director, his wife, and the rest of the EHC team. Pray for the Church of this nation, so often the target of militant Muslims. Pray that the Lord would intervene and that salvation would come to the people of the Central African Republic. Truly, Jesus is the only hope for this land. Thank you for joining with us as we stand in the gap for the Central African Republic today. Tanner Peake Senior Director of Prayer Mobilization |
