Noted Christian researcher/author George Barna writes, "By spiritual champions, I mean individuals who have embraced Jesus Christ as their Savior and Lord; accept the Bible as truth and as the guide for life; and seek to live in obedience to its principles and in search of ways to continually deepen their relationship with God. Spiritual champions live in ways that are noticeably different from the norm—even when compared to the average churchgoer."

Is living a transformed life more than simply being religious or active in a church?

  • It is sad that the Body of Christ has decayed to such an extent that fulfilling even the basics of the faith requires you to be labeled "champion," and "noticeably different from the norm." Time was, apostles and believers, when asked by outsiders and new believers how to live the life of faith were told, "imitate me as I imitate Christ (as Paul said)." Precious few of us can honestly say that we live the kind of Christian life that we would want others to imitate.
