Someone asked, “Did Solomon ever lose his wisdom?”
True wisdom resides in GOD. Wisdom creates what is good. Wisdom innovates towards what is good. Wisdom builds what is good. Wisdom illuminates what is good. So if a person is near GOD, the nearer he is to wisdom. As King David once said, “The nearness of GOD is my good.” (Ps 73:28a).
As Solomon grew in stature with the LORD, he wrote some of the Psalms, the Proverbs and the Songs; but when he disobeyed the LORD, he found futility and vanity in his pursuits. No matter what he did under the sun without GOD, it was useless! But I am so glad that at the end of Ecclesiastes, he concluded that there is nothing better for man to do than to “fear GOD and obey His commands” (Eccl 12:13).
So if you desire wisdom, desire GOD!
May you seek the face of the LORD with all your heart, all your mind and all your resources so you may find wisdom, and joy along with it. Know though, that with much wisdom, comes much responsibility!
Shalom!
