Acts 5:1-3 But a certain man named Ananias, with Sapphira his wife, sold a possession. And he kept back part of the proceeds, his wife also being aware of it, and brought a certain part and laid it at the apostles' feet. But Peter said, “Ananias, why has Satan filled your heart to lie to the Holy Spirit and keep back part of the price of the land for yourself?”
2 Timothy 3:13 But evil men and impostors will grow worse and worse, deceiving and being deceived.
- Peter, through this gift, discerned that Ananias and Sapphira's hearts were filled with Satan's lies. They held back a portion of money which had been pledged to the ministry.
# distinguishing between spirits insures the body of Christ against the infiltration of deceivers.
- Through the distinguishing between spirits, we can know when we are being deceived either by Satan through people or situations, or by people themselves. This revealed knowledge becomes our protection.
