Take Every Thought Captive

In church on Sunday, before the service started, myself and one other lady were in the santuary listening to praise music and praising Him.

I felt the Lord speak  and say "Jane did you know that one wild thought can wreck your life. "

I pondered that for a minute, what do you mean Lord? "Well, if you have a wild or unhealthy thought and you dwell on it long enough, you will start to believe it and the next thing you know sin is crouching at your door. "

Yikes! I was led to a passage in 2 Corinthians.

2 Corinthians 10:4-6 (New International Version,)

4 The weapons we fight with are not the weapons of the world. On the contrary, they have divine power to demolish strongholds. 5 We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ. 6 And we will be ready to punish every act of disobedience, once your obedience is complete.

How gracious is our God!! The weapons to fight with are at our finger tips. I for one don't always remember this passage when I'm in the battle. We have divine POWER to demolish strongholds.

DEMOLISH:

to put an end to; destroy; explode: The results of his research demolished many theories.
to lay waste to; ruin utterly

What a mighty God we serve. Oh how he loves you and me!  He loves us in the battle and when we are not in battle. Another passage that I love is in Romans.

Romans 8:1-3

1 Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus, 2 because through Christ Jesus the law of the Spirit who gives life has set you[a] free from the law of sin and death. 3 For what the law was powerless to do because it was weakened by the flesh,[b] God did by sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh to be a sin offering.[c] And so he condemned sin in the flesh,

Let us  remember how wonderful is our God the next time a thought trys to take over our minds. We have been set free from the law of sin and death. Take every thought captive and make it obedient to Christ!
