Can one intercede through journalling

I am one person who loves to journal. I feel closer to God through this medium. I am a introvert by nature and as you may well know, introverts are inclined live in the thoughts and inner world.

I understand the importance and power of the spoken word. I just wondered, is there a place for intercession through journalling?

I would love to hear your comments based on God's word?

Much love,

Anastasia. :)

  • Thanks, that it so refreshing to hear. I think we all need courage to embrace our spiritual uniqueness - the way we commune with God, and He with us. :)

    Hey!

My reply is a bit late as well but I wanted to say that there are times when I am feeling particularly unfocused and cannot get my mind to stay on one thing that it really helps for me to write. I usually take a walk when I pray or am moving so whenever I have to stay home it is super hard for me to sit down and get quiet enough to hear that gentle whisper. When I write I find myself writing about things I never knew were on my mind. It is also so uplifting to go back and read what I've written and see what has happened since then or get the perspective from there.
  • I agree with Jennifer I also love to Journal and have been doing some for many years during my Devotional time of reading and studying the Word of God. I also journal my thoughts and my Intercessory Prayers as well. I am a Prophetic Intercessor and Leader of a Prayer Team and I do Pray aloud too ofcourse. But I also at times Intercede through Journaling and I also have a Book that I keep for Prayer request that come to me and the Prayer Group as well.
  • Thank you so much Jennifer.

This lifts a 'burden' off me because most of the time, you hear you have to OPEN YOUR MOUTH AND SPEAK GOD's word for it to take effect... :)
  • I would say absolutely! I have journalled lots of prayers, and get SO ministered by them when I read/pray back over them. When I read them, it is obvious to me that it was indeed the Spirit praying through me, and not just my thoughts. If you are a prophetic intercessor, journalling is a great way of recording those prophetic words. The Lord had me prophetically interceding for my family at one point while I was journalling. It is SO amazing now to go back and read that, and see how God has brought those words to pass! Praise God!

I do think it is important to also speak out loud the things the Lord compels you to speak, but it IS possible to intercede through journalling.

    God bless you!
