Toward the end of Billy Graham’s stadium events, Billy came to Cincinnati where Steve Sjogren was pastoring! As part of the steering committee, he was tagged to lead an outreach into the community to create good will. Usually that amounts to raising funds for an ambulance or holding a blood drive. We thought it’d be fun to shake things up a bit.
After doing training, encouraging and coaching about 300 congregations in this city of 2 million…we worked up to a one-day, three-hour giant outreach around the entire area.In the end, we collectively touched over 300,000! The city was abuzz about it. We made the news on several fronts. Exciting!
To boot, Billy and Steve were able to meet up for an hour after the outreaches. Billy was thrilled about the outreach and how it went. He told Steve, we need to do this again as far and wide as possible. “This is the future for reaching people. Considering where the world is now, we need to find new and innovative ways to reach them. This is a great bridge to Christ. You guys need to dedicate your lives stirring this up as far and wide as you can.”
