How should we pray? When and for what? While many Christians know others with deep prayer lives, we long for the same in our own walk.

About this Event

We often hear that prayer is the bedrock of Christian discipleship. Jonathan Edwards once remarked that our desire for and practice of prayer was a critical test to separate the authentic Christian from the hypocrite.

Yet prayer can be exceedingly challenging. Not only in the discipline of its practice, but in understanding the content of prayer. How should we pray? When and for what? While many Christians know others with deep prayer lives, we long for the same fullness in our own walk.

In this webinar, we will be joined by Dr. Wesley Hill, Associate Professor of Biblical Studies at Trinity School for Ministry, to discuss his new book The Lord’s Prayer: A Guide to Praying to Our Father.

While the Lord’s Prayer is often caricatured and maligned, Hill argues that it reveals not only critical insights into how to pray but offers us a window into Jesus’ own life of prayer. In doing so, Hill reintroduces the Lord’s Prayer and unpacks its seven central petitions for Christians to understand and engage in prayer.
