Make A Difference ~ Make Disciples
The word disciple means “learner,” so a disciple of Jesus is a learner of Jesus. No matter how young or old someone is, being a learner of Jesus is the goal of that person’s life. A Christian is never be a know-it-all; rather, a follower of Jesus is in a continual process of absorbing and practicing the teachings of Rabbi Jesus.
One of the most important things a disciple of Jesus learns is this: Disciples make disciples. Learners of Jesus produce more learners of Jesus. This calling, to make other disciples, has come to be known as the Great Commission. It is the greatest difference making, history changing, boundary breaking strategy this world has ever known. People at all stages of learning have discovered that knowing Jesus is the best thing anyone could possibly do. So from generation to generation and geography to geography, people have come to learn Jesus.
Therefore, go and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. Teach these new disciples to obey all the commands I have given you. And be sure of this: I am with you always, even to the end of the age. —Matthew 28:19–20
Jesus, let me learn you. And let me invite others to learn alongside me. Amen.
