  • Hey Jim,
I read Simple Church two years ago, and it has changed the focus of our church. We still need to tweak what we are doing, but it helped us trim the fat (some programs and busy work).
We pass every opportunity we are presented with through the filter to determine if it either helps us CONNECT to God through worship, to GROW in our knowledge of God through His Word, or if it opens a door for us to SERVE others in His name.
Our church has certainly benefited by the ideas presented in this book.

  • In my opinion, a very good book, because instead of telling you how they did it (as most books on church growth inevitably do) it gives you what the authors believe, based on their research, to be the underlying principles behind what makes a church grow, which you can then shape in any way that best fits your congregation, your community, and your target audience.
