Why God made this day

“This is the day the LORD has made. Don’t mess it up.”

  - Anonymous

Detouring from the narrow path would mess up today—steadfast obedience is better.

Whatever courses other people may take, nestle near your Shepherd’s heart.

Denying God’s goodness would mess up today—counting on His faithfulness is better.

Whatever changes happen in your life, rest assured your Father will not vary.

Despairing when trouble hits would mess up today—unflinching faith in God is better.

Whatever catastrophes may come your way, rely on unfailing divine protection.

Doubting God’s Providence would mess up today—implicit trust in God’s care is better.

Whatever consternation may attack your mind, hold to your Shepherd’s hand.

Down-in-the-mouth grumpiness would mess up today—singing His praises is better.

Whatever cantankerousness whines, rejoice—that’s why God made this day.

“This is the day the Lord has made. We will rejoice and be glad in it.”

Psalm 118:24 ESV
