Speaking Boldly about Jesus

How do we speak boldly about Jesus without speaking loudly? I listened to a podcast of Charles Stanley and his son - Andy was stating we mostly pray for blessings  and for the sick. That lesson touched me dearly! I try to speak calmly but I have been around people who profess they are speaking bold about the Lord but it seems to me that they are trying to shove their religion down my throat!
