In the wake of several brutal terror attacks around the Temple Mount over the weekend, hundreds 9651022282?profile=originalgathered Sunday in the historic Christ Church in the Old City of Jerusalem to pray. These were joined by millions of Christians united globally for The Day of Prayer for the Peace of Jerusalem (DPPJ).

Over 1400 global Christian leadersendorse this growing prayer movement calling believers to intercede for the city God calls His own and to invoke God’s blessing, purposes, and provision upon all of Jerusalem’s people. Hispanic evangelical leader the Rev. Samuel Rodriguez, President and CEO of the National Hispanic Christian Leadership Conference, oversees more than 500,000 Latino churches globally that participate each year. Dr. Jeff Farmer, President of Pentecostal/Charismatic Church of North America (PCCNA) – which represents over 480,000 churches and nearly 90 million followers of Christ worldwide – has also recently endorsed the DPPJ.

9651022858?profile=originalFrom over 175 nations, believers gathered to pray in their churches and homes from cities to rural villages, from huts to mansions, and from cathedrals to underground churches in China and seven Muslim countries. They also joined in intercession via the prayer app “Instapray” and on a global 24 Hour Prayer Conference Call. (Photo: DPPJ in Seoul Korea, Oct. 4th)

Broadcast by GOD TV to 500 million viewers in almost 200 nations, people were also able to participate in the special Jerusalem DPPJ Celebration - hosted by Eagles’ Wings Founder / Executive Director Rev.Robert Stearns - at Christ Church in the Old City of Jerusalem. Christ Church is the oldest Protestant Church in the Middle East.9651022889?profile=original Host Pastor Rev. David Pileggi (photo at right) opened the service in prayer and shared that “the very motto of Christ Church since 1830 has been: ‘Pray for the Peace of Jerusalem.’ ” Some of the speakers included: Anne Ayalon, President of The Galilean Project & Christian Friends of Magen David Adom Israel (and the wife of Former Deputy Foreign Minister of Israel, Daniel Ayalon); Ken Howard of Christian Friends of Israel; Rev. Petra Heldt, of The Ecumenical Theological Research Fraternity; Rick Ridings, Founder of Succat Hallel; 24/7 House of Prayer; Peter Tsukahira, Director of Or HaCarmel Ministry Center, and keynote speaker Canon Andrew White – popularly known as the "Vicar of Baghdad".

Normally the guest speakers also include many Jewish religious and governmental leaders as well but this year, the first Sunday of October coincided with the holiday of Simchat Torah, which limited Jewish participation.

This multi-national, multi-denominational global prayer movement was started in 2002 and is co-chaired by Evangelical Christian leaders Rev. Robert Stearns, Dr. Jack W. Hayford, and Dr. Paul Cedar.

9651023266?profile=originalWith more than 40 nations represented in the sanctuary and almost 200 nations watching the broadcast, Rev. Stearns issued a strong challenge to the nations: “Don’t ask God to bless your city unless you bless His city – Jerusalem. Don’t ask God to bless your family unless you bless His family – the Jewish people. In Jerusalem we will see The Mashiach (Messiah) reign in glory and power!” He also added, “God has a blessing for both the sons of Isaac and the sons of Ishmael.”

“The Vicar of Baghdad”, Canon Andrew White, who was educated in Jerusalem at both Hebrew University and a Jewish Yeshiva, shared a story from his present work as President of the Foundation for Relief and Reconciliation in the Middle East, which led him recently to gather key Rabbis and several Islamic Ayatollahs. After 3 challenging days together, the Rabbis said to the 9651023863?profile=originalAyatollahs: “We have heard your story and now we love you.” The Ayatollahs responded to the Rabbis: “We hated you, but we have looked into your eyes; once you were our enemies but now you are our friends.” White said: “God is at work amongst us. What we know is that the Lord is here. Ultimately, we will see the power of God come forth from Israel to the nations.”

The Jerusalem DPPJ celebration was saturated in prayer for God’s city and people. “We pray that as Christian brothers and sisters we no longer can be silent among the nations…bind us together with our Jewish brothers and sisters, for together we are the family of the One True God,” prayed Ken Howard of Christian Friends of Israel. Rev. Dr. Heldt prayed for the five orphans who had just lost their parents on Shabbat of Sukkot in a brutal terror attack, lamenting that a high time of praise became a high time of sorrow. “Lord, we beseech you to take the place of the children’s parents who were murdered by the hatred of men. We pray for the nations who are full of hatred against Jerusalem; please make their hearts as tender as the heart of Abraham who served 9651023287?profile=originalyou with all his soul.”  As one of the few Asian Christian leaders in Israel, Peter Tsukahira prayed that God would plant a seed in the hearts of Christians from all of the Asian nations and the Far East, and raise up millions from those lands to “stand as watchmen on the walls of Jerusalem.” And as Jesus taught His disciples, Rick Ridings led those gathered in praying a blessing even over those who would perpetrate violence and terror against the Jewish and Christian communities in the Middle East.

Throughout the 24 hours of October 4th, over 500 believers from around the world also prayed together through the 24-Hour DPPJ Prayer Conference Call hosted by www.greatercalling.org. Callers representing many states in the U.S. were joined by believers from the nations, praying a total of 17,472 combined minutes of prayer, which is the equivalent to one person praying for the peace of Jerusalem non-stop for more than 12 days.

9651024072?profile=original

Social media was also a key part of October 4th with global believers joining one another in prayer for the peace of Jerusalem through the world’s leading prayer app,Instapray. As soon as one person would release their written prayer for Jerusalem, a multitude of others from the US and places like India, France, Australia, Brazil, Mozambique, South Korea, Nepal, Iraq, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Indonesia, United Arab Emirates, and even Iran, immediately sent back messages saying that they too had prayed that prayer for Jerusalem.

The Day of Prayer for the Peace of Jerusalem – on the first Sunday of every October - is the largest Jerusalem-focused prayer initiative in the world, involving tens of millions of believers participating each year from over 175 nations. It is endorsed by prominent Christian leaders worldwide, including T.D Jakes, Joyce Meyer, Michael W. Smith, Dick Eastman, Ron Luce, Kay Arthur, Jane Hansen Hoyt, K.P. Yohannan, Ravi Zacharias, Dr. Raleigh Washington, Kenneth Copeland, Lance Wallnau, Larry Stockstill, Bishop Charles Scott, The Newsboys, Dennis Balcombe, Sunday Adelaja, and many more.

On Sunday October 6th, Christians in over 175 nations, including those in the “underground churches” of China and seven Muslim countries, prayed for God’s peace and blessings upon Jerusalem and all of her people as part of the Day of Prayer for the Peace of Jerusalem (DPPJ). It is truly difficult to grasp the width and the breadth of this global, grassroots prayer movement until you begin to read the multitude of reports that have come in from churches – both large and small – from all corners of the earth.

Here are just a few of them…

9651014084?profile=original

Yoido Full Gospel Church in Seoul, South Korea is one of the largest churches in the world. On a typical Sunday, 200,000 believers will attend one of seven services, while another two or three hundred thousand will watch the service on TV in adjoining buildings or satellite branches. On October 6th, 500,000 attended the DPPJ service led by Dr. Young Hoon Lee, the senior pastor who succeeded Dr. Yonggi Cho. They felt especially honored that the Israeli Ambassador to South Korea, Uri Gutman, attended the service and afterwards met personally with Dr. Lee and church leaders which included the DPPJ Coordinator for South Korea, Elder Lee. Shown in the photo is their major DPPJ Ad in the largest Korean newspaper.

In contrast, the9651014496?profile=originalre are countless numbers of smaller DPPJ gatherings that took place, from grass huts to house churches as well as regional gatherings in larger town halls.

In Pakistan, our DPPJ Coordinator reported that over 300 believers gathered to pray for the peace of Jerusalem and her people, in spite of the fact that Christians in that country are routinely persecuted for their faith.

9651014279?profile=originalIn Goa, India, the 3 hour DPPJ service at a town hall included pastors from 15 different churches, as well as elders and members from over 20 churches. Our DPPJ Coordinator from Goa ended his report saying:

“We in Goa, India are really excited to be a part of this global prayer movement, because this is not only going to bless Jerusalem, Israel, and the Jewish people, but it is also going to be a great blessing to our nation India, our families, and our society.”

 9651015254?profile=original

In Europe, we had news of great DPPJ growth in the Czech Republic. This year there was approximately a 10% increase in the number of people participating. There were 10 different denominational churches participating, which is more than a 100% increase above the previous year; and there were 12 different places and towns hosting DPPJ events, which is a 50% increase above previous year. Many prayers were connected with the departure of Czech President Milos Zeman for Israel on the very day they were praying. Only few days before, he made a clear 9651015054?profile=originaland courageous statement supporting the transfer of the Czech Embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem, which was followed by strong negative reaction from a chief PLO negotiator.

On yet another continent, a city-wide prayer meeting for DPPJ was held in Adelaide, South Australia, in coordination with the Australian House of Prayer for all Nations. People from many churches attended to worship and declare many Scriptures together to bless Jerusalem and her people.

9651014888?profile=original
The prayer against terrorism towards Israel and her people had special meaning for those at the DPPJ gathering in Nakuru, Kenya, after the recent terror attack in the Kenyan Westgate mall, which was an Israeli establishment. Prayer participants made proclamations of peace and security over the land of Israel and over all her people in different parts of the world.

Our DPPJ Coordinator in Costa Rica reported that they had a glorious Day of Prayer for the Peace of Jerusalem event at Comunidad Cristiana Tierra in Guanacaste, wh9651015288?profile=originalile other DPPJ gatherings at other churches in the region were happening. This gathering was led by the main pastor for Tierra Deseable from Mundo de Fe and also president of the Pastors Association for Liberia (shown blowing the shofar), and by the DPPJ Coordinator of Costa Rica.

Reports continue to come in from Africa, Europe, Canada, and all over the United States. You can read them in the coming weeks on our website www.daytopray.com under "Testimonies". Be sure to send in your report today or Email your testimony to office@eagleswings.to

9651012284?profile=originalMillions of Christians united across denominational, cultural, and political differences on Sunday, October 6th, as part of the Day of Prayer for the Peace of Jerusalem (DPPJ) to intercede for the city God calls His own, and to invoke God’s blessing, purposes, and provision upon all of Jerusalem’s people. From over 175 nations, believers gathered to pray in their worship services, in their homes, on college campuses, in regional gatherings, and on a 24-Hour Prayer Conference Call.

Broadcast by GOD TV to 900 million, Christians in over 200 nations were also able to join the special DPPJ Celebration at The Pavilion on Jaffa Road in Jerusalem. It was co-hosted by Pastor Wayne Hilsden, Senior Pastor of the King of Kings Community Jerusalem. Before the packed audience, he prayed that God would bring a peace that “was not just something agreed upon diplomatically or written on paper, but a peace beyond human understanding…a peace that only God could bring.”

Special guests and speakers participating in the event included Dr. Jürgen Bühler, Executive Director of the International Christian Embassy Jerusalem; Naomi Tsur, Deputy Mayor of Jerusalem; Berlin-born Rev. Petra Heldt, Director of the Ecumenical Theological Research Fraternity in Israel; and Rabbi Dr. Shlomo Riskin, founding Chief Rabbi of Efrat and Chancellor of the Ohr Torah Stone Institutions. There were also Christian leaders from the Philippines, Malaysia, Australia, and elsewhere who prayed from the platform that God w9651012677?profile=originalould bless, strengthen, protect, and prosper Jerusalem and her people.

This multinational, multi-denominational global prayer movement was started in 2002 by Evangelical Christian leaders, with Dr. Jack W. Hayford and Rev. Dr. Robert Stearns serving as co-chairmen. Rev. Stearns, Founder/Director of Eagles’ Wings, explained:

God has a blessing both for the descendants of Isaac and those of Ishmael…When we turn our hearts from darkness to light, we embrace God's peace plan for Isaac and Ishmael. God's love is infinitely stronger than the god of hate and will cause us to triumph in our lives. ”

Orthodox R9651013065?profile=originalabbi Dr. Shlomo Riskin told the Christian audience from many nations:

"We are living in apocalyptic and fateful times and our response to them is critical. Very often we [in Israel] feel as though we stand alone, but Evangelical Christians are our best friends in the whole world. We are eternally grateful that you are standing with us.”

Christians participating in the DPPJ observances not only pray for Jerusalem, but also add practical action to their intercession. This year a check of $15,000 was given from the DPPJ offerings to support two Eagles’ Wings Feeding Centers in Israel, which feed both Arab and Jewish poor in Jerusalem and Tiberias.

Additionally, millions participated by praying in their churches, homes, and special services throughout October 6 – from cities and rural villages, from huts and mansions, from cathedrals and simple church buildings, and from college campuses to underground churches in China and seven Muslim countries.

Throughout the 24 hours of October 6, believers from around the world also prayed together through an internet “virtual prayer room” created by the 24-Hour DPPJ Prayer Conference Call through the ministry of Greater Calling. Callers representing most of the states in the U.S. were joined by believers from many nations, including Canada, Kenya, United Kingdom, Venezuela, Papua New Guinea, British Virgin Islands, and Italy. The Lord was praised, shofars were blown, and the people raised their diverse voices in one accord as they prayed for Jerusalem and her people groups.

The Day of Prayer for the Peace of Jerusalem – held the first Sunday every October – is the largest Jerusalem-focused prayer initiative in the world, involving tens of millions of believers, participating from over 175 nations and from “underground” churches in China and seven Muslim countries. It is endorsed by over 1,200 prominent Christian leaders worldwide, including Jack Hayford, Paul Cedar, Dick Eastman, Ron Luce, Kay Arthur, Raleigh Washington, Jane Hansen Hoyt, K.P. Yohannan, T.D. Jakes, Ravi Zacharias, Mosy Madugba, Kenneth Copeland, Samuel Rodriguez, Joyce Meyer, Lance Wallnau, Larry Stockstill, Bishop Charles Scott, Newsboys, Thomas Wang, Sunday Adelaja, and many more.

What do all of these Christian Leaders – from different denominations, cultures, continents, and ages– have in common on Oct. 6th? They are praying for the peace of Jerusalem that day. Are YOU?

9651011697?profile=original

The annual Day of Prayer for the Peace of Jerusalem is the largest Israel focused Christian prayer movement in history. Global participation, for October 6th, has strongly been endorsed by over 1300 Christian Ministry Leaders. International and well respected ministry leaders such as: Dr. Paul Cedar of Mission America Coalition, Pastor Samuel Rodriguez, President of National Hispanic Christian Leadership Conference, Kay Arthur of Precept Ministries International, Ron Luce of Teen Mania Ministries, T.D. Jakes - Bishop/Chief Pastor of The Potter's House, John Bornschein – Vice Chairman of The National Day of Prayer Task Force, Indian born Christian apologist Ravi Zacharias, Christian author and speaker Joyce Meyer, author and speaker Doug Stringer- Founder/CEO of Somebody Cares International, First Nations Leader Dr. Negiel Bigpond, and K.P. Yohannan, who has brought the Good News of Christ to millions in South Asia over the last three decades.

Their unit9651012668?profile=originaled call is for ALL believers to fulfill The Lord’s mandate in Psalm 122:6, to pray for God’s peace, blessing, and love to Jews, Arabs and Christians alike in God’s Holy City – Jerusalem.

As a strong supporter of God’s covenant purposes with Israel, Dr. Raleigh Washington - President and CEO of Promise Keepers - states: “Every Christian must reach out to the Jewish Community, bless them and pray for the peace of Jerusalem.”

 9651012295?profile=original

According to Dave Butts, Chairman of America's National Prayer Committee:

"There is no more urgent call to the whole body of Christ than the Day of Prayer for the Peace of Jerusalem. This prayer movement blends the dynamic of tomorrow's headlines with the imperative of praying God's Word back to Him."

9651012483?profile=originalIn an interview with Eagles’ Wings, Pastor Samuel Rodriguez - President of National Hispanic Christian Leadership Conference - said:

“More than ever, we are in an Anti- Semitic wave, emerging not only on college & university campuses, but also in many public arenas and different governmental settings around the world. It’s aiming again at Jerusalem and the Jewish people. The Firewall against Anti -Semitism in the 21st century, IS the body of Christ… the Church of Jesus Christ…”

9651012496?profile=original
Jane Hansen Hoyt, the International President of Aglow International - a global, trans-denominational Christian organization established in 166 nations on 6 continents - explains:

Never has it been as critical as it is now that we stand in the gap for the nation of Israel and its people. The biblical mandate to ‘pray for the peace of Jerusalem’ must take on greater priority in our lives as we watch the intensity of warfare increase, both in the natural and spiritual realms, over God’s end-time purposes for His people – Israel and the body of Christ."

Joel C. Rosenberg – popular Christian author of the Last Jihad series and9651012890?profile=original founder of The Joshua Fund – shares:

"As the Iranian nuclear threat grows, and leaders throughout the epicenter threaten the Jewish State with annihilation, now is the time for followers of Jesus Christ to bless Israel and pray faithfully for the peace of Jerusalem."

9651013288?profile=original

Rev. Phil Miglioratti - National Pastors' Prayer Network says:

"Many of us have ignored God’s call to pray for this globally strategic city. May this Day of Prayer be God’s way of focusing our attention for a Christ awakening in all sectors of Jerusalem."

9651014071?profile=originalDr. Dick Eastman - International President for Every Home for Christ - shared:

"The call to prayer for the peace of Jerusalem (Psalm 122:6-8) is one of the great appeals for prayer with promises, in all the Bible. To pray daily as such demonstrates our love for God’s chosen people and with that, according to verse six, comes “security” (NIV) and prosperity (NLT). Personally I consider my daily time of prayer incomplete if I haven’t specifically prayed for the peace of Jerusalem."

Co-founded in 2002 by Dr. Robert Stearns, (CEO & founder of Eagles’ Wings) and Dr. Jack9651012677?profile=original Hayford (Chancellor of The Kings University) the annual Day of Prayer for the Peace of Jerusalem is on the first Sunday of every October and now has churches participating from over 175 nations, including those “underground” churches in China and seven Muslim nations. An offering is also collected to help all in need – both Jew and Arab – in Israel.

Churches can download FREE Resources , sign the prayer resolution, and register your church to participate on October 6th.

How many times have we wished we could do more or give more as we sat in church or in a Missions Conference?

How often have we lamented that we could not go to other countries with God’s Word?

While you and I can often become distracted with the “important” and the “urgent” of the present, we serve a God Who sees “the end from the beginning.” While you and I worship Him as “Father,” The Lord calls Himself “the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob.” When He blesses us, He also brings an inheritance of blessings to our children and grandchildren, “to a thousand generations”. (Deuteronomy 7:9) In fact, God cares so much about the generations, that He has filled Scripture with repeated instructions about the importance of teaching our children His heart, His wisdom, and His Ways. Scripture is also filled with many admonitions and consequences if we don’t.

9651009691?profile=original

Knowing God’s heart for the generations and for Jerusalem, The Day of Prayer for the Peace of Jerusalem team has developed wonderful resources to teach young people of every age why and how to pray for God’s Beloved City. What’s even more exciting is that all of these educational resources – which include lesson plans, songs, crafts, and even a video for teens – are absolutely FREE as downloads from our Day of Prayer for the Peace of Jerusalem webpage: DPPJ for Kids.

Simply go to our DPPJ website, click onto “All Ages” from the Menu along the top, and then click onto DPPJ for Kids. As you scroll down, you will find a variety of lesson plans, crafts, songs, etc., from which you can choose. Materials are categorized for children 3 – 5 years, 6 – 12 years, as well as Jr. /Sr. High students – ages 13 to 18. These equipping resources can be used by parents and teachers for Sunday School, Youth Group, Christian School, and for Home School.

ARE YOUR KIDS IN COLLEGE?

9651011874?profile=original
We have resources specifically designed for their age category as well! Just click onto the “DPPJ on Campus” option under the same “All Ages” Menu tab at the top of our Homepage. These resources are not only FREE but have also been tested by young adults on many college campuses around the country. These materials have proven themselves as highly effective tools to educate and equip Christian university students who face the most aggressive anti-Israel and anti-Christian rhetoric and indoctrination of any age group today.

9651010275?profile=originalChristian children and young adults have the very same Holy Spirit in them as adult believers, and God expects us to train them to cooperate with His Holy Spirit in the disciplines and the ministry of the Kingdom. Teaching a child to pray cannot be just intellectual, but must also be experiential if it is to be transformational in their lives. Plan to include EVERY GENERATION in your family and church fellowship on October 6th as you pray for the peace of Jerusalem.

Making Wrong Things Right

I have heard it said that there are three kinds of people in this world: those who do evil, those who fight evil, and those who do nothing.

jewish-star-of-david.jpg?width=300

WHICH ONE AM I? WHICH ONE ARE YOU?

"The world is a dangerous place, not because of those who do evil, but because of those who look on and do nothing."-- Albert Einstein

People are imperfect, and since The Church is made up of people, The Church is imperfect too. Yes, Christians are supposed to be different from the world – after all we DO have the power of The Holy Spirit to enable us to live and love supernaturally. However, we are “sinners saved by Grace” and sanctification IS a process…therefore, The Church – historically speaking – has some “skeletons in her closet.”

One of them is that the history of the Church has been steeped with Anti-Semitism and violence against the Jews. How so you may ask? Just one courageous look at the actions of “Christians” - generation after generation - towards the Jewish people and sadly we see anti-Semitism and superstitious hatred as justification for:

  1. Slanderous and hostile statements against the Jewish people by many of our Church Fathers, including: Origen in 185 AD, Gregory of Nyssa (335 – 395 AD), John Chrysostom (4th century), and even Martin Luther in his book “Concerning the Jews and Their Lies.”
  2. The many Pogroms (i.e., a violent massacre or persecution of an ethnic or religious group, usually aimed at Jews) throughout Christian Russian & European nations.
  3. The Crusades where historians tell not only of the indiscriminate slaughter of Jewish men, women, and children, but also of the 6,000 Jews who had fled to the synagogue for safety in 1099, only to be locked inside and burned alive by “Christian” Crusaders who sang hymns about the Cross of Jesus.
  4. Forced conversions, expulsions, and torture of the Jews during The Inquisition in the 13th Century and the Spanish Inquisition in 1478.
  5. The “Blood Libel” Myth, which began in England around 1144, accusing Jews of 9651010663?profile=originalmurdering Christian children at Passover to use their blood for Passover Matzoh.
  6. The Jews were blamed for “The Black Death”- the endemic bubonic plague in the 14th Century that wiped out 1/4 of Europe’s population.
  7. The Holocaust (late 1930’s - 1945) in Germany & other European nations, where 6,000,000 Jewish men, women and children or 1/3 of Europe’s Jewish population ,were slaughtered in so-called “Christian” European nations.

As part of the Church, we CAN and we MUST rectify this horrific pattern of our Christian past. Like a modern - day Abraham, Daniel, or Moses, we can take responsibility for the wrongdoings of our Christian ancestors by repenting of those sins in prayer and by actively interceding for the Jewish people, reflecting to them the true love & character of Jesus Christ.

9651010877?profile=original “Repentance is the first word of salvation (Acts 2:38), the first word of every revival (II Chron.7:14 –“turn”), and the last word of Jesus to the dysfunctional churches of Revelation 2 and 3. Repentance is counter- intuitive. We naturally resist it. However, it is the only thing that releases the supernatural energy of heaven which opens a channel of forgiveness, restoration, renewal and healing.”(Pastor Fred Beveridge)

We can experience that blessing from God in spite of the past. Join Christians of every denomination, race, and age, in over 175 nations on October 6th - as we reflect Jesus, The Intercessor, and make right the wrong things done against the Jews in His Name. God cares deeply about Jerusalem, and so should each one of us who call Jesus - The Jewish Rabbi – our Savior and Lord. A very wise and learned Christian Leader once said: “When we take what is special to God [Jerusalem] and make it special to us, He will then take what is special to us, and make it special to Him.”

No, He commanded you to!

In Isaiah 62:6, The Lord is commanding us to give God and ourselves, no rest, until “He establishes Jerusalem and makes her the praise of the earth.”

9651009698?profile=originalTo whom is God speaking? The verse says that He is speaking to “You Who Call Upon The Lord.”

Have you called upon the Lord for salvation? Have you called upon Him for healing, for loved ones, or for a broken marriage? If the answer is yes, then God is talking to You and to Me.

Other Bible versions translate that same phrase as: “You who make mention,” which even today, is a Hebrew business term describing the duty of a secretary, to remind her boss, what he has on his agenda for that day. As The Lord’s co-laborers and servants in our generation, we too are exhorted to remind God of what He has said He will do …to “make mention” of His promises and declarations to Jerusalem, that haven’t come to pass yet. It’s not that God forgets, but rather, He wants us to co-labor with Him, His Word, His Eternal Timeline, and His heart for Jerusalem.

God has only attached His Holy Name to two groups of people; the Church and the Jewish people (Deut.28: 10 and Numbers 6:27). Paul calls the Jews the root of Christianity in Romans 11, and Christians are called the “branches that were grafted in” through Jesus.

Has God not supernaturally ordered events to protect His Holy Land and His Holy City Jerusalem? Has He not revealed His Faithfulness to fulfill His Word and His promises to her?

  • “There is no nation in history that was twice destroyed."9651011857?profile=original
  • "Jerusalem - Israel’s capital and religious center - was twice destroyed."
  • "The people en masse were twice taken captive off the land."
  • "The last captivity was for 1900 years."
  • "The language was all but extinct."

"So for this nation to be reborn and have the same capital [the same language and the same religion] has to be seen as Supernatural” …the Sovereign act of God!" ( “Israel -The Blessing or the Curse” by John McTernan & Bill Koenig, pg. 48)

So what are commanded to do?

In this Isaiah 62:6 passage, God is telling us to pray: to pray day and night…to pray without ceasing…to pray without sides… and to pray from God’s perspective, not man’s.

We are called to sta9651010877?profile=originalnd in the gap and to pray for His Kingdom to come and His will to be done, on earth in Jerusalem - the spiritual center of the world – where the future Kingdom of God and the redemption of all mankind rests.

And we are to stand in that gap until He makes Jerusalem the praise in all the earth.

And when will that be? It is when all that God has planned and purposed for His Land, for His Covenant people, both Jewish and Christian, as well as for all the nations, come to pass through Jerusalem. It is THEN that “the earth will be filled with the knowledge of the GLORY of the Lord, as the waters cover the sea.” (Hab. 2:14)

God is looking for those believers who will pray HIS will, for the people and the places that He has on both His heart and His Eternal Timeline… and Jerusalem is on both!

9651009698?profile=originalThere is a part that we, God’s earthly Representatives, must play, in the kingdom of God, if we are to fulfill our destiny in this generation. Do you want to see what God has already established in heaven, fully manifest here on earth?

The Lord has already proclaimed in His Eternal Word, what He will do in this strategic city called Jerusalem. Can God accomplish these things without us? Of course He can, He’s God! But for the purposes of training The Bride to co-rule and reign with Christ, God chooses to co-labor with His Church. Intercession is one of the Lord’s great training methods, as John Wesley once said: “God will do nothing but in answer to prayer.”

Does God want to fulfill His Word to Jerusalem NOW?

God has not given us a specific date, but He has given us signs that would indicate He is ready to move.

9651011684?profile=original

1. Jesus said in Matt. 23:39 that He would not return UNLESS and UNTIL the very people that had once rejected Him would welcome Him back as King Messiah saying “Blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord.” For them to welcome Him back, the Jewish people have to be in God’s land where Jesus lived and ministered. The Bible repeatedly tells us that although the Jewish people were scattered by God throughout the nations, that “there would be a day” when He would re-gather them into the land of their ancestors never to be uprooted again. This spiritually historic event happened in 1948 when God brought “beauty out of the ashes” of the Holocaust and Israel not only became a nation, but supernaturally survived the immediate attack of five Arab countries.

9651011290?profile=original

2. Jerusalem too would have to be restored as the capital of the Jewish people, just as Zechariah prophesied, rather than be controlled by Islamic invaders. This incredibly significant event has also already happened - in 1967 - when Israel MIRACUOUSLY won Jerusalem BACK in a defensive battle against the Arab nations, making it the first time since 606BC that Jerusalem was once again the capital of an independent Israel.

God still has other plans for this land and its people, many of which are being fulfilled before our very eyes and others which have yet to happen (see Romans 11). But in order for these things to take place, significant revelation will have to take place not only in the minds and hearts of Jewish people, but also in the minds 9651010663?profile=originaland hearts of Christians as well. The sad fact is that Christian nations have historically been the source of persecution for Jewish people throughout the last 2000 years.

Many atrocities have been done to them in the name of Jesus that was NOT of God. We now have the opportunity, through The Day of Prayer for the Peace of Jerusalem, to reveal the true nature of the One we worship and serve – Jesus – Who wept over Jerusalem (Luke 19:41) and Jesus Who Ever Intercedes! (Rom. 8:34)

Wanted: Watchmen – those who hear His voice, know His Word, and know His heart for His Holy City and ALL who live there - Arab, Christian, and Jew. Join millions of Watchmen on October 6th for The Day of Prayer for the Peace of Jerusalem.

Will you reply? God has a job to do in Jerusalem and He is looking for those who will do it with Him.

What was necessary, in the natural, during Old Testament times is still necessary in the spirit today, IF we are to see God’s purposes and plans prevail in Jerusalem, the “city of The Great King” – Jesus. (Psalm 48:2 and Matthew 5:35)

9651010689?profile=original

“I have posted watchmen on your walls O Jerusalem; they will never be silent day or night. You who call upon the Lord, give yourselves no rest and give HIM no rest till He establishes Jerusalem and makes her the praise of the earth.” Isa. 62: 6

In this Isaiah 62 verse, God says He has placed “Watchmen” on the walls of Jerusalem. This Old Testament term “Watchmen” refers to the guards, sentries, or “look outs” who watched over their cities, staying alert to either enemy invasion or to friendly messengers. The important thing to note is that the Watchmen’s job, was to guard and protect the city and its inhabitants, from the enemy’s schemes, and they did so continuously – 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year.

Does this city need watchmen today for God’s purposes? YES – by all means!

Today, we are seeing the actual fulfillment of prophecy from Zechariah 12:2 which says that Jerusalem is becoming a “cup of trembling” or as NIV reads “a cup that sends all the surrounding peoples [i.e., the 22 Arab nations around Israel] reeling”. Just read the headlines and listen to the world news and you will see this exemplified by the actions of the UN and the European Union. All the nations are beginning to turn against Jerusalem, just as the Prophet Zechariah forewarned. (Zech.12: 1 – 4; Zech. 14:12; Ezek. 38:16)

It is not just a battle over land as political leaders say, it is not just a battle between the Israeli9651012082?profile=original Government and the Palestinian Authority, it is not just a battle between the Israel Defense Forces and the Terrorist groups of Hamas, Hezbollah and Iran, or between the Democratic values of Israel and the Theocratic beliefs of the surrounding Arab nations! It is ultimately a battle over WHO will be worshipped on that Holy Hill…Jesus, the King of the Jews, the Savior of Christians, or Allah- the god of Islam?

This spiritual battle is happening in this city because Jerusalem is THE very place where Jesus will return one day. Do we know when this will happen? NO, but we know exactly WHERE it will happen. Jesus is not returning to New York City…nor Tokyo or Colorado Springs. No – Zechariah 14:3 and Micah 4:1, 2 tell us that when Jesus returns, His feet will stand on the Mount of Olives, which is a very literal place, in the very real city, of Jerusalem today.

God wants “Watchmen” on the walls of Jerusalem today because Jerusalem IS the center of The End Time Battle between good and evil, between the One True God and all of the false ones so prevalent on the earth today. You can be part of His Watchmen Army through the global Day of Prayer for the Peace of Jerusalem on October 6th. Join today!

In Isaiah 62:6, God says He has divinely placed His passionate and persistent Watchmen on the walls of a particular city for His eternal purposes.

Is there an actual city called Jerusalem? Not a metaphor, but an actual piece of real estate in this world today called Jerusalem? We know that there is, so God may just be speaking about THAT particular piece of land in Israel!

9651009698?profile=originalIsaiah 62: 6: “I have posted watchmen on your walls O Jerusalem; they will never be silent day or night. You who call upon the Lord, give yourselves no rest and give Him no rest till He establishes Jerusalem and makes her the praise of the earth.”

Now this is not some wild stretch of the imagination because Scripture clearly reveals that the city of Jerusalem is a priority to God!

How do we know it’s a priority?

First, God inspired the writers of Scripture to mention Jerusalem 767 times in the Bible (KJV version); 626 times in the Old Testament and 141 times in the New Testament. As we well know, God’s word is never in vain; it always fulfills His purposes. (Isaiah 55:11). The most common reason for repetition in the Bible is to emphasize something that is really important to God. What is dear to God’s heart should be important for us to both hear and respond to. You see in the Hebrew culture, “hearing,” the Word of God, was synonymous with living out the appropriate action to His Word. One could not truly “hear” without “doing,” so God wants believers to do something regarding Jerusalem!

9651009297?profile=original

Secondly, Jerusalem was so important to God that He attached His Own Name to that city- not just once, but repeatedly.  In the Bible, He calls Jerusalem the City of God (Psalm 46:4), The City of The Lord (Isaiah 60:14), My Holy Mountain or The Holy Mountain of God (Isaiah 11:9;Isa. 56:7; Isa. 57:13; Isa. 66:20; Ezekiel 20;40; Daniel 9:16; Daniel 9:20; Joel 2:1;Joel 3:17; Zephaniah 3:11, Zechariah 8:3),The Mountain of the Lord of Hosts (Zechariah 8:3), The Throne of the Lord (Jeremiah 3:17), The Zion of The Holy One of Israel (Isaiah 60:14), and the City of the Great King…i.e., Jesus (Psalm 48:2; Matthew 5:35). And when God calls Jerusalem by other names, He still reveals His affection and love by calling her: The City of Joy ( Jer. 49:25), The City of Praise (Jer. 49:25), The City of Peace (Heb. 7:2), Great Among the Nations (Lam. 1:1), and The Perfection of Beauty ( Lam. 2:15).

The quantity of Scripture, related to Jerusalem, reveals how significant it is to God’s heart and His future purposes for it. He cares about what is happening in Jerusalem right now, and what will happen there in the future.

We are Christians who have been, “grafted into the Covenant of Abraham.” We may read the promises to Jerusalem, as though “Jerusalem” meant our city or our churches here in America. That’s not wrong to do, BUT we should always remember that the personal application of Scripture, to our lives, should never deny the primary one, which was to Jerusalem. His mandates and promises for “Jerusalem” are first and foremost, to the very real city of the same name, and His Word and promises are still true to that city. This is why believers from every tongue, tribe and nation participate in the Day of Prayer for the Peace of Jerusalem each year. Check it out!

God has commanded…Have you obeyed?

My question to us in this Five Part Series is simply this:

Does the verse Isaiah 62:6 apply to you and me today? And if our answer is “Yes”….then what are we called to do about it? And if not… why not?

9651009297?profile=originalIsaiah 62: 6: “I have posted watchmen on your walls O Jerusalem; they
will never be silent day or night. You who call upon the Lord, give yourselves
no rest and give Him no rest till He establishes Jerusalem and makes her the
praise of the earth.”

Because this verse is from the Old Testament, some might argue that this Isaiah passage about Jerusalem is not as pertinent to their Christian walk today as a verse from the New Testament.

So for now, let’s consider this important point in our discussion: Is the Old Testament written for us today?

First, the Apostle Paul wrote in 2 Tim 3:16 that, “ALL Scripture is given by inspiration of God and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness.” Most of us know this verse well, but did you know that Paul wrote it in 66 or 67 AD, before the New Testament was fully written or circulated in 100 AD. Therefore, let me submit to you that Paul (the former Jewish Pharisee) would definitely have included this verse, from The Old Testament, in his definition of “all Scripture.” Do we reject all pre-Matthew Scriptures as the Word of God? No, of course not! It would not be sound doctrine if we did not have a unified understanding of the Bible, which includes both the Old and New Testament.

Jesus Really Was Jewish!

Let us remember that until about 135 AD, the entire early church was primarily made up of9651010670?profile=original Jews. They followed the Jewish Rabbi Jesus! They believed in a Jewish Messiah, who attended a Jewish synagogue, who honored the Jewish festivals and Shabbat, and who accepted the Jewish Sacred writings. Was this an accident, or the Divine choice and purpose of God? God chose to act and speak to the world through His Son Jesus, who lived like a Jew, worshipped like a Jew, and whose words, actions, and teachings were in accordance with the Jewish culture, law, and traditions. Jesus said He had not come to abolish the Law or the Prophets, but to fulfill them. (Matt.5:17)

God is talking to us about something very real and very relevant for our Christian lives TODAY, even though it is written in the Old Testament. In fact, many verses in the Old Testament are key reasons why millions of Christians in over 175 nations, participate in The Day of Prayer for the Peace of Jerusalem each year on the first Sunday of every October.

Now that we have settled the "IF" question regarding this Old Testament verse, next time we'll look at the "WHERE" question - i.e., Jerusalem.

Millions of Christians united across denominational, cultural, and political differences on Sunday, October 7, as part of The Day of Prayer for the Peace of Jerusalem (DPPJ) to intercede for the city God calls His own and to invoke God’s blessing, purposes, and provision upon all of Jerusalem’s people. From over 175 nations, believers gathered to pray in their worship services, in their homes, on college campuses, in regional gatherings, and on a 24 Hour Prayer Conference Call.

 9651007888?profile=original

Broadcast by GOD TV to over 200  nations, Christians were also able to join the special DPPJ Celebration at the International Convention Center in Jerusalem. It was co-hosted by the International Christian Embassy Jerusalem ( ICEJ), who had gathered more than 5,000 believers from nearly 90 countries for that week. Its Executive Director - Dr. Jürgen Bühler - told the packed audience: "We have to pray for Israel like never before and stand with Israel like never before.  We have to pray for all the inhabitants of Jerusalem, both Jew and Arab…and as we pray for Israel, we must pray for the Arab nations too."  Special guests and speakers participating in this Jerusalem event  included the Israeli Hip Hop artists “Lions of Zion”, as well as Deputy Speaker of the Knesset, MK Danny Danon; Chief Rabbi of Efrat, Dr. Shlomo Riskin; International Director of Interreligious Affairs of the AJC, Rabbi Dr. David Rosen; and other Jewish and Evangelical Christian leaders.

This multinational, multi-denominational global prayer movement was started in 2002 by Evangelical Christian leaders with Dr. Jack W. Hayford and Rev. Dr. Robert Stearns serving as co-chairmen. Rev. Stearns, Founder/Director of Eagles’ Wings, explained: “We are gathering together in Jerusalem during the season of the High Holidays and declaring that Christians will continue to pray for G-d’s peace to come to all the inhabitants of Jerusalem. We will remind G-d of His promises, and we will remind Israel’s detractors that Israel is not alone.”

Rabbi Shlomo Riskin - Founder and Chancellor of Ohr Torah Stone – shared: "We [Christians and Jews] were previous enemies, but now we are important friends.  This event is more than just prayer; it explains what prayer is all about…  Zechariah 4:6 says: ‘Not by might, nor by power but by My Spirit says the Lord.’”

Christians participating in the DPPJ observances not only pray for Jerusalem, but also add practical action to their intercession. This year a check of $20,000 was presented by Robert Stearns from the DPPJ offerings to support two Eagles’ Wings Feeding Centers in Israel, which feed both Arab and Jewish poor in Jerusalem and Tiberias.

Additionally, millions participated by praying in their churches, homes and special services throughout October 7, from cities and rural villages, from huts and mansions, cathedrals and simple church buildings, and from college campuses to underground churches in China and seven Muslim countries. One pastor in India, P. Noel Samuel - head of the Indian Pentecostal Church of God in Andhra Pradesh –had his 1000 churches and 70,000 believers participating in this year’s DPPJ, and he is just one of over 1200 global endorsing leaders.

Throughout the 24 hours of October 7, 613 believers from around the world also prayed together through an internet “virtual prayer room” created by the 24-Hour DPPJ Prayer Conference Call provided by Greater Calling Ministry. Callers representing 32 U.S. states were joined by believers from many nations, including Kenya, Australia, Australia, Canada and Germany. The Lord was praised, shofars were blown, and the people raised their diverse voices in one accord as they prayed for Jerusalem and her people groups. The total combined minutes of prayer was 52,678, which is the equivalent of 878 hours or 37 days of one person praying non-stop!

The Day of Prayer for the Peace of Jerusalem –on the first Sunday every October - is the largest Jerusalem-focused prayer initiative in the world, involving tens of millions of believers participating each year from over 175 nations. It is endorsed by over 1,200 prominent Christian leaders worldwide, including Jack Hayford, Paul Cedar, Dick Eastman, Ron Luce, Kay Arthur, John Hagee, Jane Hansen Hoyt, K.P. Yohannan, T. D Jakes, Ravi Zacharias, Mosy Madugba, Kenneth Copeland, Samuel Rodriguez, Joyce Meyer, Lance Wallnau, Larry Stockstill, Bishop Charles Scott, Newsboys, Thomas Wang, Sunday Adelaja, and many more.

America's Prayer Leaders Pray for the Peace Of Jerusalem on Oct. 7th

In an hour when the very existence of Israel is threatened on all sides, God still has His plan. Despite Hezbollah missiles to her north and Hamas rockets to her South, God still has His weapons. Though allies have become foes and friends are hard to find, God is still raising up Watchmen on the walls of Jerusalem. This year, two very strategic prayer gatherings   - The Day of Prayer for the Peace of Jerusalem (DPPJ) and “THE SUMMONS” in Washington DC - discovered that they are part of God’s plan, His weapons, and His Watchmen as they join forces on the very same day – Sunday October 7th - to pray for the peace of Jerusalem.

prayer_banner.jpgThe global  Day of Prayer for the Peace of Jerusalem on October 7th (http://www.daytopray.com  )  - led by Dr. Robert Stearns, Dr. Jack Hayford, and Dr. Paul Cedar, along with over 1200 Christian endorsing leaders – occurs the first Sunday of every October in the local churches of  over 175 nations, including underground ones in China and seven Muslim countries. It is the call to the global Church to pray for God’s peace (Psalm 122:6) and blessing over His Holy City – Jerusalem, over ALL who live there - Jew and Arab alike, and over the land He calls His own. In the midst of countries in continual chaos,  God is still the Rock of Israel and Jehovah Shalom.

THE SUMMONS 2012 (http://summons2012.com ), is a Solemn Assembly in Washington DC. From Oct. 4 – 7,LOGO-THE-SUMMONS.png called by The  National Day of Prayer Task Force “due to the urgency of the moment and the prompting of God.”  America’s National Prayer Committee Chairman, Dave Butts, explains, “It is God's call to the Church to come together in our capital  during this very intense political season, to pray and ask God's blessing over our nation and our people.”  With both the Republican and Democratic Conventions  over, American Christians now face the daunting challenge of discerning which man will bless our nation over the next four years… which leader will hear God’s still quiet voice behind him saying: “This is the way; walk in it.”( Isa.30:21)

Is this overlap of dates a coincidence?  Though not originally planned by either ministry, leaders quickly realized that there was a divine motive to the dates. John Bornschein - Vice Chairman of The National Day of Prayer explains: “God is very intentional; DPPJ and Summons 2012 are evidence of His divine order and purpose. Praying for America and the Peace of Jerusalem are assignments God is summoning for our time on Sunday, October 7th.”   Dave Butts adds, “I believe it is absolutely God-orchestrated timing that The Summons, a time of prayer for America, concludes on the same day as the Global Day of Prayer for the Peace of Jerusalem. What an amazing opportunity to bless Israel and our own nation, by praying for the peace of Jerusalem in Washington DC.” Those sentiments are shared by many of the speakers and prayer leaders in The Summons 2012 since several of them are already Endorsers of The Day of Prayer for the Peace of Jerusalem. This includes Christian leaders such as: Bishop Harry R. Jackson Jr., Dr. Negiel  Bigpond , Pat Chen,  Dave Kubal , Barbara Byerly, Jeremy Story, and Dick Eastman.

images?q=tbn:ANd9GcRb6DnZHMmRVxsA9sxvbqAzS9v6t-emPriazJshNYT8xCmFCQ9GZgBoth nations face critical decisions in this hour and both nations need divine revelation from the God of all Wisdom and from the God who sees “the end from the beginning.” Co-Chairman of The Day of Prayer for the Peace of Jerusalem and executive director of Eagles' Wings– Dr. Robert Stearns – explained: “Just as the early Church leaders in Acts understood the Jewish roots of Christianity, so did the founding fathers of our nation understand the inseparable link between the land and the people of Israel. I believe it is incredibly significant that as America’s prayer leaders are praying for revival in this land, they are also praying for peace in His Land with the people of Israel, recognizing this Divine link both naturally and spiritually.”

Dr. Mahesh Chavda, Senior Pastor of All Nations Church in South Carolina once said: “When we take what is special to God and make it special to us, He takes what is special to us and makes it special to Him.”

Maybe there is real hope for both America and for Israel, as God blesses our prayers for His Land and ours on October 7th.

Launch the largest interfaith video exchange in history

(New York, NY)  September 14, 2012

The Day of Prayer for the Peace of Jerusalem is the largest Jerusalem-focused prayer event in history, involving 175 Nations, 300,000 churches, and tens of millions of believers committed to praying for peace to come to Jerusalem and all her inhabitants. Now in its tenth year, the Day of Prayer for the Peace of Jerusalem takes place every year on the first Sunday of October to raise global awareness and intercession on behalf of Jerusalem.

For the first time since its inception in 2002, participants in the Day of Prayer will be able to record video prayers through KeepTree.com, and these videos will be permanently stored and displayed in a gallery, to be shared with the people of Israel and the world at www.keeptree.com/dppj

“This will be the biggest international video exchange of interfaith words of encouragement and prayers in history,” says Robert Stearns, the founder and Executive Director of Eagles Wings, and co-chairman along with Pastor Jack Hayford of the global prayer day. “Indeed, it will demonstrate to the inhabitants of Jerusalem that they are not alone.  And it will provide an opportunity for much needed healing, as Christians around the world express love and support and our steadfast commitment to see true peace come to Jerusalem and all in the Middle East.”

“KeepTree.com is proud to support this year’s Day of Prayer for the Peace of Jerusalem,” says Jon Loew, Founder, CEO of KeepTree LLC.  “As Israel is facing unprecedented threats from its neighbors, we’re encouraging 800,000 people to record video prayers – one for each of the 800,000 inhabitants of Jerusalem to remind her that she does not stand alone.”

Jerusalem is the birthplace of Western civilization, the spiritual center of Judeo-Christian faith, the axis for religious thought and belief that for centuries has had a broader and ensuing effect on philosophical, cultural, artistic, sociological and political expression.

From today until the Day of Prayer, users can visit www.keeptree.com/dppj  to view videos recorded by respected Pastors and believers from around the globe, and then record their own video prayers for the Peace of Jerusalem. These video prayers will be posted in a gallery dedicated to the DPPJ, at www.keeptree.com/DPPJ

The Israeli government will then make the citizens of Israel - and of the world – aware that they can visit www.keeptree.com/dppj  and view millions of videos recorded for them – and invite them to REPLY.

prayer_banner.jpgFriends, we are living in an hour when the very existence of Israel is literally threatened on all sides, both politically and physically. We are living in an hour when Israel's very right to exist is being questioned on university campuses, in the media, and within international governments. We are living in an hour when - according to a 2010 poll by the European Commission - Israel is believed by Europeans in 15 countries to be the greatest threat to world peace... greater than North Korea, Iran or Afghanistan. If ever people in God's Holy Land needed to know that there are people standing with them, people praying for them, and people looking to bless them and not destroy them...NOW is that time. Diversity

As we lead up to the worldwide Day of Prayer for the Peace of Jerusalem (DPPJ) on October 7 (www.daytopray.com ), our friends at KeepTree.com have made it possible for believers from all over the world to send a personal prayer (via video) to the people of Israel.  The goal is to send 800,000 video prayers for the 800,000 residents of Jerusalem... and we need  YOUR participation to make it happen!

We are believing that this effort will become the largest video exchange of thoughts and prayers between people in history.  Join us now and help us spread the word.

Go now to www.keeptree.com/dppj  to learn more and to record your prayer of peace, blessing, or encouragement for one of the 800,000 people in Jerusalem!
