RECENT CONFERENCES Prayer House Prayer Leader, Author and Pastor, Ron Auch hosted Doug for two days at the Prayer House in Kenosha, WS. Doug shared with members and leaders of the Assembly of God, and then with pastors from the area as they considered a new effort at unified prayer in their region, just north of Chicago. The area is not far from the famed 'Zion' Illinois, which was a revival center for the nation a century ago. Miami Pastor's Prayer Summit More than sixty pastors from across Miami, many with ministries reaching into Central and South America met for three days of prayer at the Lake Placid Retreat Center. Prayer Summits are a unique, agenda-free gathering aimed at personal transformation with the city in view. The recognition is that the greatest need is for our own personal renewal - and then impact will naturally follow. As Gypsy Smith was prawn to say, "Get on fire, and people will come and watch your burn!"
In this summit, pastors prayed one for another, wept with one another, served communion to one another, confessed to one another. Over open Bibles they prayed for each other's congregations. At times, songs echoed in four different languages. They considered Philippians 2, in terms of their own ministry style. They considered II Chronicles 7:14, and concluded in their prayers, that the missing ingredient among today's pastors and laity, was humility. What a great time together. Almost ten pastor's groups meet weekly for prayer from North Miami to Homestead. |
