Verse of the Day

Acts 5:1-3 But a certain man named Ananias, with Sapphira his wife, sold a possession. And he kept back part of the proceeds, his wife also being aware of it, and brought a certain part and laid it at the apostles' feet. But Peter said, “Ananias, why has Satan filled your heart to lie to the Holy Spirit and keep back part of the price of the land for yourself?”

2 Timothy 3:13 But evil men and impostors will grow worse and worse, deceiving and being deceived.

  • Peter, through this gift, discerned that Ananias and Sapphira's hearts were filled with Satan's lies. They held back a portion of money which had been pledged to the ministry.

# distinguishing between spirits insures the body of Christ against the infiltration of deceivers.

  • Through the distinguishing between spirits, we can know when we are being deceived either by Satan through people or situations, or by people themselves. This revealed knowledge becomes our protection.

Verse of the Day

Verse of the Day: Isaiah 55:8-11

"For My thoughts are not your thoughts, Nor are your ways My ways," declares the Lord. "For as the heavens are higher than the earth, So are My ways higher than your ways And My thoughts than your thoughts. For as the rain and the snow come down from heaven, And do not return there without watering the earth , And making it bear and sprout, And furnishing seed to the sower and bread to the eater; So will My word be which goes forth from My mouth; It will not return to Me empty, Without accomplishing what I desire, And without succeeding in the matter for which I sent it.

  • God's ways are beyond our understanding

Verse of the Day: Romans 9:11

“for though the twins were not yet born and had not done anything good or bad, so that God's purpose according to His choice would stand, not because of works but because of Him who calls,”

  • God's choice was not meant to exclude, but to include! The Messiah will come from a select seed, but He will come for all (who exercise faith (Rom. 2:28-29; 4:3, 22-25; Romans 10).

Therefore my heart is glad, and my glory rejoiceth: my flesh also shall rest in hope.

But the LORD shall endure for ever: he hath prepared his throne for judgment.

And he shall judge the world in righteousness, he shall minister judgment to the people in uprightness. The LORD also will be a refuge for the oppressed, a refuge in times of trouble. And they that know thy name will put their trust in thee: for thou, LORD, hast not forsaken them that seek thee.

ADULTÈRE – FORNICATION

I. Les chrétiens ne doivent pas commettre l’adultère:

  1. Pour éviter la fornication, quechaque home ait sa propre femme - 1 Cor 7:2.

Verse of the Day

Verse of the Day: Psa. 2:7, 8, 9

I will declare the decree: the LORD hath said unto me, Thou art my Son; this day have I begotten thee.

Ask of me, and I shall give thee the heathen for thine inheritance, and the uttermost parts of the earth for thy possession. Thou shalt break them with a rod of iron; thou shalt dash them in pieces like a potter's vessel.

  • Declared the Beloved Son (Matthew 3:17, Romans 1:4 )

Ministry

My heart for ministry is to see communities living with a passionate heart for the Gospel, forever transformed and equipped to take care of themselves and assist new disciples to meet their needs and those of others.

I am passionate about equipping believers to do everything as an outcome of their daily conversation with God, and to train others to do the same.

I do this because God told me that He will teach me His word so that I teach it to others.

Verse of the Day: Psa. 2:1-3

1 Why do the heathen rage, and the people imagine a vain thing?

2 The kings of the earth set themselves, and the rulers take counsel together, against the LORD, and against his anointed, saying,

3 Let us break their bands asunder, and cast away their cords from us.

12308693665?profile=RESIZE_710xNO DOUBT!!!  And it would probably be a Scriptural 40 pages long!

The question is:

Would organized church (i.e., what Church has become) leaders open the letter?

Or, because of how many “ships have sailed” over the last 1800 years – dogma, fear mongering, customs, practices, traditions of which a significant number were acquired by merger – would Paul’s letter get thrown into the shredder?

—I would like to share how my wife stood up for Marriage at the Great Frederick Fair in Frederick, Md. and how it challenged a violinist to also stand up and share about the Lord Jesus.

At the fair there is a spot which is called the free stage.  There was a band. Led by Dennis Lee, who rented it and held outdoor concerts at the fair. Dennis is a Christian as well and openly talks about the Lord as well. The Dennis Lee, when we got there, was interviewing a couple who have been married for over 55 years.  My wife is proud that we have been married 55 years.  She got his attention and shared it with him.  Dennis asked her what held us together, and my wife unashamedly that it was the Lord.  She also shared briefly about reading the Bible together and praying together with her husband.

In Dennis Lee’s Band was a violinist, an accomplished violinist—Stephanie Ann Simon. (StephanieAnn.com) She was going to play the National Anthem at the Demolition Derby that night.  The Band leader asked her to play it for us while we were there.  Before she did, she looked at my wife and told her that what she said about Marriage encouraged to her to share her thoughts too.  She proceeded to talk about Jesus, and how Jesus was important to her and her home.  Wow!!!!!!!!!!  Talk about a move of God’s Holy Spirit.  One person spoke up initially—my wife, then what was said encouraged someone else to share—Stephanie Ann Simon.

—She ended her testimony with playing the National Anthem—with a performance that I wish you could have heard.  It was so moving that this retired Army officer rendered a military salute as it was played.

Seeing this move of God’s Holy Spirit in sharing a word about Christ—there must have been someone in the crowd who needed to hear that word.  May God’s word bring the fruit to which it was sent.

The above has been shared to encourage others to share their testimony.

A few years agok my wife and I were saddened to learn that the VBS director of my church did not encourage asking children to put their faith in Jesus by asking Him into their heart.  She did not believe children understood the concept of a Spiritual Heart.  She thought most thought of the heart as an organ that pumps blood.  The result was, no one was Saved during that VBS.  SAD.

On hearing this, my wife and I both wanted to find a way to explain the Spiritual Heart.  I looked for a visual way to help a verbal explanation. From my past studies, I decided on using some etymology discipline and my studies of the ancient Hebrew Pictographic letters.  I found that the the ancient Hebrew Pictographic letters in this case were very helpful.

The attached document are lessons that may be helpful in explaining the Spiritual Heart, both verbally and visually.

In posting these Lessons, I would apprecaite feed back.

One other consideration--Sunday School attendance is down, and possibly VBS too.  Someone could veryfy if that is correct--but I believe it may well be true.  We have many of our youth leaving church and Christianity.  My heart in sharing this study is to provide a way that can help people and children learn about the Spiritual Heart. Hopefully when they do, they will desire to put their faith in Jesus as their Lord and Savior.

Please, if you take the time to read this, study the lesson provided and let me know some constructive thoughts about how we can encourage leaders to teach about what the Spiritual Heart is.

Thank you very much.

Agree/Disagree: Are We Really Protecting Our Theology?

I agree...
This is no time for despair. We don’t need to reinvent the church but to rediscover it, for the church is God’s creation. This is no time to abandon theology but to drill down deeper to take every thought, and every social imaginary, captive to Christ. The local church is the place to cultivate biblical literacy, to learn what every Christian needs to know to represent Christ and his kingdom.

...BUT...

I am convinced the desire to protect our theology gives us an excuse to ignore how our theology is rooted in and infected by our worldview, our ethnicity, our economic condition, whether our personality leans left or right. Taking every thought captive to Christ includes our biblical interpretations and applications.

This is not a veiled push for radical liberalism; it is a plea to recognize the dangers in both liberal and conservative perspectives.
