I would like to share a challenge. So many of us have not seen blessing used in prayer. We ae so used to asking God for something, and some of us have also learned to worship in prayer, but what about blessing others in prayer? Romans 12:14 (KJV) says to “Bless them which persecute you: bless, and curse not.”

To bless those who persecute you is hard. But that is what the Bible says to do. Numbers 6:22-27 describe the Aaronic Blessing, and verse 27 of that passage give the reason that the Lord wanted the blessing to be spoken. IT was that He might put His Name on the people.

Now some thoughts about applying a blessing in prayer—Many of our citizens today have little religious training. They do not know Christ. God says his word will accomplish the purpose to which it was sent. Isaiah 55:11. When God puts Name on the People, He is putting His character, which will draw people to Himself. So—why not speak the Aaronic Blessing over them. It is inviting God to work a work of love that draws people to Himself.

I have heard some feel that using a blessing in prayer is like praying under the Law. I would like to hear thoughts from others about using Blessing in prayer—and how to encourage people who have not seen blessing to start using a blessing, and what blessing should we be using.

I would also like to hear the thoughts of others in praying a blessing over our streets, neighborhoods, cities, states, our country, our churches, and political process. Could this type of praying be used of God to bring a return to Him?

Please share your thoughts.
