It Is A New Era!

Greetings Praying Friends!

For over 13 years officially I have worked with the amazing network group, International Orality Network. Last October an opportunity came for me to move into ministry in a paid position with a Bible Translation organization called 4.2.20 Foundation as the Prayer Strategist and Director of Prayer Strategies. They are based out of Jerusalem.

During this year of 2019 I have been transitioning from that previous position and intentionally moving more fully into this new season of ministry. It has been a time of learning and many shifts. I invite you to visit us at: https://4220Foundation.com

Here is a preview:

Welcome Back!

This past month our Teams have been on a Social Media Fast.

PRAISE GOD for all who stepped back from schedules and ongoing normal work and instead made a priority for August in taking some intentional down time. Think about Joshua 3:5, “Joshua told the people, “Consecrate yourselves, for tomorrow the Lord will do amazing things among you.” As we step back into those schedules in September 2018 we together agree in unity to believe for the mighty things God is doing in these tomorrow days. We continue to tap our arrows on the ground for the “more” of Ephesians 3:20-21 for all of the body of Christ, especially for the Orality Network and our Great Commission Partner Groups.

PRAY with us, Lord, As we step back into the physical work at hand, remind us again of the reality of John 9:4 “We must carry on the work of him who sent me while the daylight lasts. Night is coming, when no one can work.” Empower your servants to serve well in the spiritual places of life, such as keeping a love for You and Your Word priority and at the same time, valuing the physical work of the Kingdom You allow us to be able to touch! Let us, ” Taste and See that the Lord is good; How blessed is the one who takes refuge in Him.” Psalm 34:8

PRAY with us, Father, Close the gap! We pray in agreement the “least prayed prayer” in Matthew 9:37-38 & Luke 10:2.

•   Pray for the Oral People Groups who number 80% (5.7 Billion) of the population of the globe who still wait for the gospel in a way they can really understand and receive. Time is short, let every believer wake up to fully seek first God’s Kingdom and His righteousness, realizing the urgency of the hour. (Rom. 13:11-14; Luke 19:13; Psalm 90:12)

•  Pray that every follower of Jesus is BEING a disciple who fully follows Jesus in loving God, loving others and making disciples that make disciples. (Acts 1:8; Matt. 22:37; Prov. 11:30; Matt. 28:18-20)

•   Pray for believers see the LOSTNESS of souls all around us. May each disciple be open and responsive to the heart condition of those the Holy Spirit is preparing. And let us move intentionally into sharing God’s Story and gift of salvation in Christ Jesus in a way that can be understood and responded to for transformation to happen at a heart level. (John 4:36; John 6:44; 2 Tim. 4:2)

MAY 2016 ION Prayer Focus

  • Collaborating Together Prayer and Missions

Are we willing to pray BOLD PRAYERS?

Here is one example of bold prayers shown Scripture. . . Praying BOLD Prayers, comes from the reality of having been with Jesus. . .  look with us at this one that begins in Acts 4:23.

23 On their release, Peter and John went back to their own people and reported all that the chief priests and the elders had said to them.24 When they heard this, they raised their voices together in prayer to God. “Sovereign Lord,” they said, “you made the heavens and the earth and the sea, and everything in them. 25 You spoke by the Holy Spirit through the mouth of your servant, our father David:

“‘Why do the nations rage
and the peoples plot in vain?
26 The kings of the earth rise up
and the rulers band together
against the Lord
and against his anointed one.’

27 Indeed Herod and Pontius Pilate met together with the Gentiles and the people of Israel in this city to conspire against your holy servant Jesus, whom you anointed. 28 They did what your power and will had decided beforehand should happen. 29 Now, Lord, consider their threats and enable your servants to speak your word with great boldness. 30 Stretch out your hand to heal and perform signs and wonders through the name of your holy servant Jesus.”

31 After they prayed, the place where they were meeting was shaken. And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and spoke the Word of God boldly.

This month let us unite together for GOD’S TIMING in the Collaboration Together for Prayer and Missions, that the places where we meet might be shaken and we might be filled with the Holy Spirit, to speak the Word of God boldly.

Many are saying there is an acceleration of God’s timing right now in the area of collaboration of prayer and missions.

This is not new.

We believe the early church began in a prayer meeting and grew because of their culture of prayer (click to read about this). You can see this so clearly in Acts 1. Let’s pray for that same culture of prayer and missions to be apparent in the Church today.

We stand at a critical place in history. Do you believe we might be standing at the beginning of a season of another “Great Awakening” that is sweeping across Nations to bring the Gospel? We see the Spirit of God visiting His people with power. At the same time, the powers of darkness are raging. As the light of Christ grows brighter, the darkness becomes darker. But we know the end of the story, Revelation 22:16 “I, Jesus, have sent My angel to testify to you and to give you assurance of these things for the churches. I am the Root (the Source, the Life) and the Offspring of David, the radiant and bright Morning Star.” The Root and True Light is coming!

As we move into this accelerated season, the lines are beginning to blur from where we have been to where God wants to take us. Might there be a freedom to hear from Him as to how things need to be done. Even in prayer. We see there is no set way to do things as we have had in the past few years for most of the world. That is not a bad thing, but it is a time to really be sure you are seeking God’s guidance through the Holy Spirit.

As we seek Him in prayer, there is so much that we need to unite in prayer for in regard to God’s Word come to the EVERY AND ALL across the face of the globe.

What might it look like to unite in prayer & missions?

We, those who pray and we, who are in missions, must unite and walk together. To collaborate together prayer & missions!

How can we understand how to pray? How do we move from where we are to where we need to go -in praying for the Gospel, God’s Story, His great gift, JESUS to go the EVERY AND ALL. . .

Let’s begin to unite and pray in celebration for what HE IS DOING. One of those things that He is doing right now is uniting those who are working to bring Scripture to every person on the earth!

Collaborating together in this current time

As those that gathered from the two events watched, up onto the stage came the Table 71 group for God wanted to set in place something historic.

REPORT ON A HISTORIC GATHERING IN ORLANDO – JANUARY 2008 “A historic meeting of international missions leaders, prayer leaders and church planters was held from Jan. 29- Feb. 1, 2008 called the Call2All-Orlando. Mark Anderson gave leadership to this gathering which was attended by 600 leaders including the CEOs of 170 of the primary mission organizations in the world with the leaders of prayer ministries and church planting moments. Call2All are called to reach “all”: the least, the last and the lost.” – Mike Bickle

As Lou Engle and Mike Bickle walked the young and old who were gathered through the need to understand the convergence of prayer and missions which really is the model of the first century church: To serve one another and promote each other for the sake of the Gospel.

For the most part, to date only the young people and prayer movements have been actively modeling and intentionally carry forth this message. This must be seen in a greater measure, even among the mainstream groups involved with Missions and Prayer to intentionally collaborate and work together

screenshot_2016-12-23-20-24-07-1

All across the world we see the Spirit raising up prayer and missions movements for such a time as this. This is His pattern, see the parable in Luke 18:1-8 which Jesus shared to demonstrate the need for praying persistently. The parable in Matthew 25:1-13 shows the need to not only have your lamps ready, but we have to keep them lit. The fire on the altar must never be allowed to go out, as is written in Leviticus 6:12.

We ask you to believe and join to pray for a collaboration of prayer and missions that will cause an unprecedented amount of movement in bringing the Gospel to the Lost so that all might hear, believe and receive salvation through Christ Jesus.

To take a look back at the timeline of prayer & missions over the ages, asking for a true understanding of the “Historical Timeline for Prayer thru the Ages” that will help us to see this is not new:

Using Mobile Apps for Prayer & Prayer Mobilization

picsart_08-31-04-17-30.png?w=318&h=191&width=318AND

           technology

In this day of technology, how might we use Mobile Apps for Prayer and Prayer Mobilization?

Recently this topic has come up several times. I wondered after my last conversation if there were articles out there that might help people to see how effective using apps in prayer is.

Well did some research, found out there is not very much written. So decided that maybe I could share from time to time some of the apps we are aware of and how we use them.

Sharing about using 3 specific apps for Prayer and Prayer Mobilization:

1. WhatsApp

2. Echo Prayer App

3. SignUp Genius

whatsapp1.  WhatsApp
More info at – https://www.whatsapp.com/

Prayer updates via WhatsApp

You can offer a prayer alert service on WhatsApp. This might be used to share urgent prayer requests from around the world with individuals or with groups. Or to send out a quick praise report when needed! When you are out in the field, you can let those who pray for you receive up to date reports. You might use this with your prayer team members who connect fairly regularly. This app saves you from having to pull up your email on the run!

WhatsApp allows you to connect via text message alerts, send images or video or audio message embedded into your message. You can use this to help people to feel connected in a deeper way and will help remind them pray.

echo-prayer-app 2.   Echo App

More info at – https://new.echoprayer.com/

Whether it be to simply keep track of prayer requests, give space to engage with God, or simply help remind people to pray… Echo is a tool to help Christ-followers engage with God.

Read Echo’s purpose, watch the demo  –Here is a link for you to see the demo: http://www.echoprayer.com/front/demo.php

signupgenius-2 SignUp Genius

More info at –  http://www.signupgenius.com/

SignUp Genius will allow you to make up “projects” that you can then ask people to sign up for.

Two areas you might use it for prayer mobilization:

1. Think about how this might work for you to use to get people to sign up as individuals or groups such as if you are running a 24/7 Prayer Event. Each person can sign up for specific hours for praying.

2. When you are trying to sign people up to be on prayer teams or connect together on a prayer project where tasks or sections of jobs have to be done, this is the app to track everything with.

Independence Day Weekend Prayer

Independence Day Weekend Prayer#AppealToHeavenLord, we stand this weekend remembering as our forefathers have stood before You in times gone by, to celebrating our history and realizing how much we desperately are in need of your grace and mercy. On this day we rejoice in the favor You have graciously given us.We thank You for the blessings of liberty, for this generation and for the generations to come. We thank You for our independence, peace and for all those who have bravely given their lives in the defence of freedom and justice. We thank You that Your gracious and provident hand has given us so much.Yet as a nation and people we have not always chosen the right way. We ask You to forgive us for these times. On this day we commit ourselves to wholeheartedly honoring and serving You. Begin with me...With everything that we are, we lay our lives before You. Make us a generous people, a holy nation, a people set aside to love You forever, for the sake of the land of the brave and free, and the peoples and nations of this world.Today, we do not presume Your grace for our country. Our land is in need of You, our people are in need of You, our industry and business is in need of You.May we look only to You this Independence Day Weekend, dependent on You. Yes, we acknowledge our need individually and corporately. Please come now by Your glorious Holy Spirit,Breathe new life into this nation. May justice flow like rivers, And righteousness like a never failing stream, Until the whole of our country is covered with Your glory, As the waters cover the sea.We ask all this in the wonderful name of Jesus,Who lives and reigns with You and the Holy Spirit. One God, now and for all eternity.Amen.(a modern prayer taken for the United States of America from www.lords-prayer-words.com)

A day, in the Presence in the prayer room

PicsArt_05-20-12.27.58 (1).jpg
Looking toward the beginning of the 6th month, pondering  the rest of 2016. . .
At the beginning of the year, the Lord gave us the word “REFRESH” for 2016. He began speaking this beginning in December as I looked into what the ION Prayer Focus might be going into the new year for January.
Continuing in the message of “wait” was my answer. For the past 8 years I had been in the habit of writing prayer focus guides for ION. Originally weekly, then twice monthly and in the last few years it has been a monthly prayer focus guide. That all was been put in “wait” mode as we entered into 2016. God has been working on me as to what is really needed. Is it my habit, or is it His guiding?!?
Let me give you some background. For over the past two years, our core prayer team has been walking out James 1:2-8
James 1:2-8 The Christian can even welcome trouble  (J.B. Phillips) When all kinds of trials and temptations crowd into your lives my brothers, don’t resent them as intruders, but welcome them as friends! Realize that they come to test your faith and to produce in you the quality of endurance. But let the process go on until that endurance is fully developed, and you will find you have become men of mature character with the right sort of independence. And if, in the process, any of you does not know how to meet any particular problem he has only to ask God—who gives generously to all men without making them feel foolish or guilty—and he may be quite sure that the necessary wisdom will be given him. But he must ask in sincere faith without secret doubts as to whether he really wants God’s help or not. The man who trusts God, but with inward reservations, is like a wave of the sea, carried forward by the wind one moment and driven back the next. That sort of man cannot hope to receive anything from God, and the life of a man of divided loyalty will reveal instability at every turn.
James 1:2-8  (VOICE) Don’t run from tests and hardships, brothers and sisters. As difficult as they are, you will ultimately find joy in them; if you embrace them, your faith will blossom under pressure and teach you true patience as you endure. And true patience brought on by endurance will equip you to complete the long journey and cross the finish line—mature, complete, and wanting nothing. If you don’t have all the wisdom needed for this journey, then all you have to do is ask God for it; and God will grant all that you need. He gives lavishly and never scolds you for asking.
Wisdom, as James understands it, is the ability to live life well and make good decisions. Wisdom doesn’t come from old age or hard knocks. Wisdom begins with knowing and depending absolutely on God, who is never stingy when it comes to wisdom for those who seek it. He supplies all the wisdom we need when we ask. But when we try to go it alone—without God—trouble is around the corner.
The key is that your request be anchored by your single-minded commitment to God. Those who depend only on their own judgment are like those lost on the seas, carried away by any wave or picked up by any wind. Those adrift on their own wisdom shouldn’t assume the Lord will rescue them or bring them anything. The splinter of divided loyalty shatters your compass and leaves you dizzy and confused.
We will be the first to confess, this has not been an easy time for any of us. But we will also be the ones to say God has been right in the middle of all this with us! And we are stronger for these days. In the midst of all of the trials, tests and hardships a new level of TRUSTING GOD, comes in the chaos.
God is in the chaos. . .
It is He who can give us the correct perspective in the middle of the storm, but we must look to Him (and Him alone). Have you been in the midst of some trials? What if it is God working on your maturity or the maturity of those around you. This is a body issue, the whole body of Christ is in the midst of understanding their true identity and what must happen to REFRESH. A recalibration is needed. A recalibration is happening!
Understanding our true identity in sonship. . .
1 John 5:20 – And we know that the Son of God is come, and hath given us an understanding, that we may know him that is true, and we are in him that is true, [even] in his Son Jesus Christ. This is the true God, and eternal life.
Luke 1:35 – And the angel answered and said unto her, The Holy Ghost shall come upon thee, and the power of the Highest shall overshadow thee: therefore also that holy thing which shall be born of thee shall be called the Son of God.
John 3:16 – For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
Romans 8:10-12  – In bringing many sons and daughters to glory, it was fitting that God, for whom and through whom everything exists, should make the pioneer of their salvation perfect through what he suffered. Both the one who makes people holy and those who are made holy are of the same family. So Jesus is not ashamed to call them brothers and sisters. He says, “I will declare your name to my brothers and sisters; in the assembly I will sing your praises.”
Romans 8:16 – The Spirit Himself testifies with our spirit that we are children of God
Sons of God, hear the Father’s voice, Sons of God speak what the Father tells them to speak, Sons of God do what the Father tells them to do. Hearing Him is critical. Being of Him and people of prayer is key for this season. We have heard His voice and are in a new place of hearing Him. Hearing Him call us and others to pray and to lead others to pray into the future for those who still wait to hear God’s name and to have an opportunity to follow His Son. Only through the work of the Holy Spirit will that happen. So this week after Pentecost, we continue to cry out. . .
Habakkuk 2:1-3  (WEB) – I will stand at my watch, and set myself on the ramparts, and will look out to see what he will say to me, and what I will answer concerning my complaint.  Yahweh answered me, “Write the vision, and make it plain on tablets, that he who runs may read it.  For the vision is yet for the appointed time, and it hurries toward the end, and won’t prove false. Though it takes time, wait for it; because it will surely come. It won’t delay.
Habakkuk 2:14 (WEB) – For the earth will be filled with the knowledge of Yahweh’s glory, as the waters cover the sea.
Habakkuk 3:1-2 (WEB) [God Racing on the Crest of the Waves] A prayer of the prophet Habakkuk, with orchestra: God, I’ve heard what our ancestors say about you, and I’m stopped in my tracks, down on my knees. Do among us what you did among them. Work among us as you worked among them. And as you bring judgment, as you surely must, remember mercy.
As we round the corner to the coming of the first of June and the beginning of the second half of the year, it is becoming more clear! God is in the quieting of us down so to speak.
When we look back to where we were a year ago this week (at the last week of our 50 days of intentional listening prayer initiative) we see God is answering our prayers. He has shifted us in many ways, yet the vision remains the same.  Read more about the vion of ION here: https://orality.net/about/#vision
Coming into focus are some spectacular stories of what God He is doing out in His Harvest field. We are delighted at the opportunity to join Him in His activity.

Worker’s reply after you prayed for the speed of deer rather than turtle speed on May 18th for the completion of the final recordings of a StoryTogether project…: “Answered prayers yesterday! We are making big strides. One story teller went from stuttering to confidence in the first story!” Please continue claiming Psalm 18:33 as you pray for these recordings and the peoples on a different religious ‘course’ who will now have an opportunity to hear the Good News in their heart languages.

Scripture App for the Amis: Taiwan

A pilot project was launched recently by Wycliffe Taiwan among the Amis community, one of the largest language groups in the country. The project aims to provide the Amis people an app so they can access Scriptures easily in text and audio forms. Once the Amis project is completed, similar projects will be started in other people groups. Thank God for Taiwan Bible Society and the Amis churches who are the key partners in this project. Pray also for the 16 language communities in Taiwan. Pray that they would all have access to God’s Word and know Him as the Author of hope, love and life.

Using their language in church: Russian Federation

Over the past three summers a translation team has worked with local believers from a small people group in Siberia to craft a set of 30 oral Bible stories. Praise God that the believers who helped the team enjoyed the work so much they practiced translating verses from the Bible while the team was away. They told them, “You have helped to redeem our language for the church. Now we talk, pray and sing in church all the time in our mother tongue!”

Thinking back to the prayer room when Morgan Jackson came into our ION Prayer Room and shared what they would be doing in a goal of every heart language having the New Testament in Audio format available. WOW! Look at what God has been doing. So very grateful for the opportunities to come alongside our ION Partner groups in prayer.
PRAISE GOD for this movement of putting the Scriptures into every heart language. Now lets continue to come alongside the work of groups like Faith Comes By Hearing and ask for continued favor.
Let’s pray big and set our hearts together to pray for the whole Bible in every language. We have seen God do remarkable things over this past 10 years as the ION Prayer Team. You are invited to join in asking. . .

Prayer Strategist 101: Lead those you have influence with to see the work of God in prayer related to your focus.

ION Prayer links with many others who have a heart to pray for those who still wait to hear the name of Jesus. . .

What might it look like to be a part of the work of God as a prayer strategist?

Prayer Strategist 101: Lead those you have influence with to see the work of God in prayer related to your focus.

This morning as I began to pray, asking the Lord, “How might my prayer for this 16th day of Gratitude be focused?  (November the Month of Gratitude)

I was reminded of a dear friend and fellow Prayer Strategist, Milton Monell. Milt leads the Global Prayer Team, in cultivating movements of God-dependent intercessors globally for Campus Crusade (CRU). God used him to play a significant part in our launch as a prayer network. Visit their website: http://globalprayermovement.org ;

I am so grateful for Milt and those like him who quietly serve the body of Christ to equip, mobilize and encourage the intercessors around the globe.

Last month as I was in the CRU bldg. for my Prayer Strategist assignment with a great commission partners group to pray with “eyes open” during their meeting, I was able to slip upstairs to pray at the Great Commission Global Prayer Center for the work of God that happens from this partner group’s headquarters. As I walked and prayed, I noticed a familiar theme… [ 370 more words. ]
