  • I just received this very encouraging newsletter from Steve Cleary, CEO/Founder, RevelationMedia:

    Dear Friends,

Today, I have some exciting news!

This week, I worked on Chapter Four of iBIBLE. It reveals God’s call to Noah to build the ark. As I was going through the edit, my son Jordan (28) was watching behind me. I was shocked by what he said.

But first, a little background. Jordan grew up in a Christian home. He has seen all of my ministry projects. He respects what I do, and he is more than willing to offer his opinion.

However, he is the type who would rather spend his days on his phone, and not reading a book. Unfortunately, he has lost interest in church activities. While he has his faith, engaging with the written Bible is not at the top of his list of priorities. I suspect this scenario is true for many Western people in younger generations.

But, after watching a chapter of iBIBLE, he said, “Dad, I am not going to read the Bible. Even when I try to read it, I don’t understand it, and I just get frustrated. But, I will watch your version of the Bible. This I can understand! When can I see more?”

"This I can understand. When can I see more?"
I couldn’t have been more excited by his comments. When I think of the iBIBLE, I often picture a younger audience engaging with it. Younger generations, more prone to be attached to a phone or an iPad, are looking for ways to engage with the Bible that speaks their language of sight and sound.
In fact, 70% of Christian millennials read Scripture using a screen, and over half of them watch faith-based videos online. Engaging with Christian content using screens seems to be a common theme among younger generations.

Today, I want to share that same chapter with you. I welcome you to share it with your family. It is not the final edit, but it is close. This version is not the one we will use on the app where users interact with each page, rather it is the version for DVD and online viewing.

After showing it to Jordan, I showed it to one of our partner ministries. Even before talking about how they can use it on the mission field, one of the workers told me, “My 13-year-old daughter just said to me, ‘Mom, don’t read me the Bible, show it to me.’ I need this ASAP for my daughter!”

"My 13-year-old daughter just said to me, 'Mom, don't read me the Bible, show it to me.' I need this ASAP for my daughter!"
Rejoice with us as we get closer and closer to releasing chapters of iBIBLE. View a prerelease of Chapter Four (Noah, Part 1) below. Chapter Five will be released soon as well. It shows the second half of Noah’s story. Chapters One through Four are also nearing release, and 10 more chapters are in different stages of development.

We are so thankful for all of those who have faithfully donated to iBIBLE even before seeing any of the competed work. I pray that God blesses your faithfulness in walking through this vision with us. And, if you haven’t signed up as an iBIBLE producer, now may be the perfect opportunity.
One of the most important aspects of the iBIBLE is that it ONLY uses the Bible for its script. We do not add dialogue that is not in the Scriptures. We do not add theology based on our own views. Our scripts are a compilation of three of the top Bible translations, and are compiled in chronological order in a story-telling format. I believe it is the first of its kind.

Let’s bring the Word of God to our children, grandchildren, and the global missions community in a sight-and-sound format they will want to engage in!

Are Children the Door to the Unreached?

    Dear Friends,
Brother O, a missionary who leads an underground printing press in a highly restricted nation told me of his great success printing Christian children’s materials. He shared how easy it is to give a child an illustrated storybook. They are not judgmental. They are not persecutors. They offer no opposition. They love the full-color storybooks and want to learn the stories from the Bible. And, when they bring these books home, they often ask their father or mother to read it to them!  Brother O shared how multiple families have given their lives to Christ through reading the Christian storybooks that he prints!
I remember many years ago working in the red zones of South America. We were doing a Christmas outreach to the children of the opposition. We met in the middle of a school soccer field. The armed men were in the wooded hillside, and they sent their children into the field. They could see us, but we could not see them. The military was about 100 yards behind us; they were there for our protection if something were to go wrong. However, both had agreed not to interfere with our Christmas outreach.
I watched as the children came out of the jungle. We gave each of them a backpack filled with school supplies, toys, and an illustrated Bible storybook. The first item they pulled out of the backpack was not a toy—it was the Bible storybook! And they brought them back into the jungle with them.

Of course, the phone app and video versions of iBIBLE remain our top priority, but when I heard the testimony of Brother O and remembered what I experienced in the jungles of South America, I knew this was an opportunity we couldn’t overlook. We are already creating the artwork for the iBIBLE app and videos, so recreating them for an illustrated storybook is quite simple and very affordable.
While iBIBLE is not specifically a children’s resource, I believe it will be a powerful tool in reaching families for Christ. Children love the vivid colors, young adults love the animation, and I love the fact that we only use the Bible to create the scripts. God’s Word will go forth in a new format that will be freely available to the world.

Thank you for standing with RevelationMedia and supporting our many projects including iBIBLE. I look forward to sharing more as we begin production and distribution of the iBIBLE illustrated storybooks.
I believe children are the doorway to reach the unreached!

    Have a blessed Sunday.

Latest newsletter from Steve Cleary, CEO/Founder, RevelationMedia:

    Dear Friends,
Several years ago, my friend (we will call him Mark) was assigned a task. He was asked to travel to villages that had been visited six months prior by an evangelical team. The evangelical team had amazing success when they arrived and preached in every new village. Their presentations were some of the best ever developed, and they witnessed thousands of conversions in the villages they ministered in.
Mark’s assignment was simple: visit with the local pastors and see how much their churches had grown since the evangelical team visited.
To the dismay of Mark and the organization that sent him, the results were NOT what they had expected. There had been NO measurable church growth in any of the villages he visited. How could that be? Thousands had given their lives to Christ.
While Mark was extremely disappointed by the results, he was not the type of person to simply deliver disappointing news. So, he studied why this occurred and worked out a potential solution. More on that in a moment.
I recently read that studies on the Billy Graham crusades reported similar results. It is estimated that only 3–6% of those who accepted Christ at a Billy Graham crusade had joined a local church.

It is estimated that only 3-6% of those who accepted Christ at a Billy Graham crusade had joined a local church.

When I was a young Christian, I did some filming in Romania. I stayed with a local family, and over the course of my stay, we became quite close. Romania had just opened after the fall of communism, and evangelical teams came through this Romanian city nearly every week.
When I asked them about the impact these evangelical teams were having on their local churches, my host told me, “When a group comes from overseas, they always ask people to accept Christ. The Christians and non-Christians alike will always raise their hands to receive Christ.” When I asked him why they receive Christ over and over, he said, “Why not? They receive free gifts, it makes the visitors happy, and it would simply be impolite not to.”
When I traveled with Pastor Richard Wurmbrand, he told me that there seemed to be an obsession among American (or western) Christians to “get people saved.” He said, when a person becomes a Christian in communist Romania, they immediately begin their journey of discipleship, studying the Scriptures, and even preparing for persecution.

So, if there is little measurable success to just “getting people saved,” what is the answer? As my friend Mark discovered, the problem is not the work of the evangelical teams—the problem is with the follow-up, or rather, lack thereof.

If there is little measurable success to just “getting people saved,” what is the answer?

When Mark presented his findings to the organization that sent him to follow their evangelical teams, he also brought a plan for how they could follow up with audio Bibles. Most of the new converts were illiterate, so even if they were given a new print Bible, they could not read it. The leaders of the organization had a hard time processing the “bad” news Mark had brought them, but they also eventually agreed to establish a follow-up program where new converts would listen to the Scriptures after raising their hands to receive Christ.

Most of the new converts were illiterate, so even if they were given a new print Bible, they could not read it.

Eventually, they sent Mark back out to visit the villages after the new process with audio Bibles was in place, and when he returned to deliver his report, the findings were much better. The church was growing!
Even Jesus witnessed how easy it was for people to follow Him when there was food available and miracles being performed. After the feeding of the 5,000 in John 6, Jesus’s teachings became more difficult, so many of His disciples deserted Him. As we read in verse 66, “Many of his disciples turned back and no longer walked with him.” (ESV)
Of course, for the answer, we could also go back to the words of Jesus in what is commonly referred to as the Great Commission in Matthew 28.
Then Jesus came to them and said, “Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you.” (Matt. 28:19–20a)
I fear there has been, and still is, an obsession with only “getting people saved.” Christian organizations often report on how many people accept Christ, but what about the number of people who became disciples? I fear there is a great imbalance in our efforts, with too little emphasis being placed on quality follow-up for those we lead to Christ.

Christian organizations often report on how many people accept Christ, but what about the number of people who became disciples?

Even our own children could fall away from the faith they are brought up in if they don’t have their own experience and commitment to Christ. It is a shame that Sunday School, for many churches, has all but disappeared because kids are too busy or simply too bored to attend. And due to the pandemic, it has only gotten worse.
Given these current situations, my commitment and resolve to produce the iBIBLE has never been stronger. Will going through a visual presentation of the entire Bible save more people? Probably not. But will it help make disciples? Absolutely!
iBIBLE is not the only solution to the challenges we face on the mission field and with our own children and grandchildren. There are other great discipleship programs, and audio Bibles available in thousands of languages. iBIBLE will be another resource that can be used here in America and overseas. It is also a resource that can be accessed online and on a phone, making it even more appealing to the next generation!
Please continue to pray for us. Resources like iBIBLE are needed more than ever. However, animating the entire Bible is not a project that can be done overnight. It is a God-sized project, and our desire over the next year is to enlarge our team or artists and animators. At this time, we are also solely supported by individuals, like you, who share in this vision. We are approaching larger foundations and ministries to partner with us as well, and in God’s timing, we will enlarge our team and accelerate the production process.
Thank you for your faithfulness in partnering with RevelationMedia in support of our iBIBLE project.

    Have a blessed Sunday.

  • 296,619 Reasons to Rejoice

    Dear Friends,
Today, as I write this email to you, our friends and partners, I am overwhelmed by what God is doing. For the last three years, we have been pushing the need for quality Christian content for America AND for the global missions community. Our vision is clear—offer the right content in the right language, with the right distribution, and the whole world will benefit!
We are now working in 30 languages for our flagship content, The Pilgrim’s Progress and iBIBLE, and racing toward our initial goal of 100 different languages for our content. We look for all forms of distribution and focus on a digital approach as much as possible.

Just a few months ago, we began formatting and uploading our content on YouTube. To date, we have only uploaded a portion of our current content. We are just getting started, but over the last few weeks, viewership has exploded.
I received the first analytics report of our YouTube content yesterday. I had to double-check the numbers. I did the math multiple times. I stared in disbelief as I realized that over the past week, our content has generated an average of 296,619 views PER DAY!

With this exponential growth, YouTube is now actually recommending our content! The fields are white for harvest! (John 4:35)
Seeing the demand for quality Christian content, we began expanding our translations to upload on YouTube. While English is the primary language being viewed, we are also seeing tremendous growth with other languages like Hindi and Tagalog. As of right now, we have only uploaded a portion of the languages that are already completed. Our goal is to have over 50 uploads of our content in various languages before the end of this year, and over 100 uploads next year." width="564" class="m_4542752422208674598mcnImage CToWUd a6T"/>
YouTube key art for iBIBLE Chapter 5.
YouTube is just one way to distribute our content. We are excited about our new partnerships with RightNow Media (used by over 20,000 churches, schools, and organizations), and the YouVersion app (installed on over 60 million devices worldwide). Another exciting way we will distribute our content is through our forthcoming iBIBLE app.

While our team labors daily to distribute The Pilgrim’s Progress, iBIBLE, and other licensed programming, I must confess, the report from YouTube renewed the fire in my heart. If someone had told me three years ago that we would be reaching nearly 300,000 people per day, I wouldn’t have believed them. But God is faithful! He multiplies our work and vision.

If someone had told me three years ago that we would be reaching nearly 300,000 people per day, I wouldn't have believed them. But God is faithful! He multiples our work and vision.

Please rejoice with me today. You share in this report. Your prayers and financial support have made this possible. This testimony is yours.

I have been asked multiple times this week from friends and partners how they can best pray for me. Please pray for our iBIBLE team, and for the needed resources to expand and expedite the production. Animating the entire Biblical narrative on our own can be an overwhelming task. But every week, the need and demand for this content is increasingly obvious. With each new episode of iBIBLE published, we can see how it will easily reach millions and millions of people.
We can increase Bible engagement. We can end Bible poverty. We can break language and literacy barriers. We just need to deliver God’s Word in the right formats. 296,619 people per day are already asking for it!
Thank you for standing with us.

    Have a blessed Sunday.
